@Doomedbringer they could have been working on the press that printed the books. I work in a pressroom that prints Marvel and DC I could easily get fined for just having them in the back ground of a pic
@Zachrionalpha in that case yes they could, but if its an average joe who by no means HAS to be silent about having it, i cannot believe there is any way shapre or form nintendo/pokemon company could have any right to sue them, the fault would lie at how they got it, and that disturber would lie at fault, but if it were me i would definitely not come forward to try and aid them because i would bet they would still try to sue me
What I find ridiculous is that they're wanting to get private information and all that... because they wanted to manipulate a bunch of the fans into buzzing and hyping up a game (which acts as free advertising in their eyes). And there could be an alternate explanation for possible low sales. Maybe Gigantimax Pokemon wasn't the hit they'd thought it'd be. Regardless, the optics are pretty bad- three random people in some server, one from Milwaukee, versus a multi-million dollar juggernaut trying to use fans excited for a new game to squeeze more money out of people.
It reminds me of the process of review embargoes. It has the effect of kneecapping negative reviews, so more people will spend their money on a game or film.
Either way, it's manipulative.
@PuckThis It's not even like they were the guy who signed an NDA and then did it.
I sure do love capitalism and big companies going after people for ridiculous bullshit.
Ironically, this lawsuit has probably spread the news of this stuff to a much greater audience and therefore caused more damage than the original leak... that suggest that they need to sue themselves rather more heavily. Given that these people are also probably not the originators of the leak so... gonna be difficult to pin it on them for any real damage at all, no breach of contract or NDA so... as litigious as the Pokemon company is I really feel they are taking the piss here and it will be hard to justify winning to their fans and people in general... which will cause more damage to the company in damaging their reputation... so I really don't see how their legal department can justify all this damage to the company itself... they NEED new lawyers before they shoot themselves to pieces.
