Maybe if companies would be more transparent with sales, they'd avoid seeing stuff with these seemingly meaningless numbers. I'd say anything outside of xmas sales (a lot of kids getting games from relatives) or the madden/fifa (its the only games i know my friends still get a physical copy of and people still lineup at midnight for those even though EA is pushing the earlier play by paying more HARD). Personally had no reason to buy phyiscal for PS4 or PC for years now, only when i got a switch did i get some physical games as it was WAY cheaper in the store than it was on digital. So, tl:dr making statements based on physical sales seems really weird.
Never got into Divison, hated the combat, it felt so sluggish and unnatural in the beta and it seemed that was a style choice, friends played it but said they ran out of content like destiny pretty quick. Have no idea if the new game is of interest if those were the main issues i had with the 1st game. Do like Ubisoft, they tend to stick with their games and fix them/give them life which feels a bit like caring about the user experience a tad more than certain other big devs (Good experience with Steep and The Crew 2(got in late on 1) )
@muhkoo The content drought of the first game got fixed pretty handily with many overhauls and updates, both free and DLC. D1 had a major comeback because of that like R6 Siege did. The combat is still the same style, so I can't say you'd like the new game if you hated the combat so much as it's mostly the same, but every problem D1 had is basically gone from D2 right at launch.
For me its because I was super excited for The Division (1) and it sucked. I bought it day one and was super disappointed. The gameplay, 90% of the game, is really boring, uninspired, and, most importantly, unsatisfying shooting EVEN for a cover based shooter. Division 2 gameplay looks exactly the same. I would maybe consider giving it a second chance if I had a full squad of friends interested in playing it and it was 20$. Literally no one I know gives a shit about this game from my console only friends to my glorious master race friends. No one has even mentioned it to me, even those that played the first one with me and played past where i threw in the towel.
Divison 2 has had an amazing launch, it's nothing like Anthem or recent launches. The game has mostly stable servers and few game breaking bugs that lasted longer than a few days. The bugs and problems are a small fraction of what others had. A huge amount of it's players are very happy with it, including myself. There's a boatload of content and it's all good and meaningful content, not time wasting content that Anthem and other games have that are disguised as meaningful. It's better than the first game, improves on virtually all of it, reinvents where it needs to and just adds to where it doesn't. It adds a lot of brand new stuff that leads to useful rewards. I'm level 21/30, obviously not endgame yet, and I've put dozens of hours into it, and I can still say I'm only about 40% thru the main game. Then there's the endgame that has new things to do and it's own new ecosystem.
The headline of this video is also clickbait at it's finest. They go over several reasons why their claim is based off of incomplete data in this very video. This is clearly just a bottom of the barrel, attention grabbing video that they needed to get out to meet their quota. No amount of flashy editing or jokes will hide that. I love FH but from what I understand a lot of the new IG's staff is from The Know, and they are NOT well respected in the community for putting out videos exactly like this one. Clickbait headlines with shallow, barely reasonable content to back up their claims. It's good that they go over reviews and discuss the game, but the headline and lead in of the video is very misleading.
I really don't think making the assumption that a game isn't doing well based on just physical sales is not an accurate representation anymore. What is this 2008? I think most sales are digital now.
Like other commenters have said, why are we extrapolating from physical numbers. i realize its all the numbers we have but considering the first real episode was about how the massive decline in physical game sales is killing game stop, it seems kinda wierd to put all this stock in them to say a game maybe has sold badly. and I say this as someone who does not give a shit about the division or anthem, it just seems like you guys see numbers that don't really mean anything anymore and decide to make a video about it instead of something more pressing or quite frankly interesting that i'm sure exists everytime you make a video like this.
I'm sorry but in no way does physical sales deem a game as bombing. Nobody buys physical copies of games anymore (hence why Gamestop is failing and tried to sell itself off). I imagine it did just fine in digital sales because everyone on my friends list is playing The Division 2.
@SMK2BLNTS congratulations for your 4 friends playing it. They addressed that physical copies aren’t a proper way to calculate it’s just a general idea because it’s so early.
@SMK2BLNTS thank goodness you had friends so you could bust this cover-up wide open, do you and your friends have any other powers to predict things other then video game sales?
@crazyjivin and thank you for being the typical bully on the faceless internet. I shared an opinion and in no way does that deserve you weighing in on me and my friends. Maybe you need to look inside yourself and figure out what's really going on. You'll never be able to love others until you learn to live yourself. Have a blessed day.
