Hard to disagree with a lot of what is being said here, and this is coming from a longtime Pokemon fan as well. It does feel a little weird that a gaming company we've all grown up with is no longer trying to appeal to our generation, but money IS what drives them and the younger generations have always been their prime target, so I can see why they'd make the shift. That being said, it also leaves a bad taste in my mouth knowing how much they cut corners for a game that was supposedly next gen. Their excuse for cutting out over half of the pokemon in a universe that they themselves built seems a little half-assed to me at best...
@burnsabeast yeah that’s why we hear so many complaints that people buying the next gen of Pokémon games when they come out think “well I don’t need a tutorial so get rid of it” or “this isn’t hard enough for me a 20+ something year old so this wasn’t very good” it’s just something to play and have fun with if people wanna make a fuss go apply for GameFreak and try to make those changes it won’t be as easy as they think it is and hopefully they can learn something from it. That’s my rant have fun everyone 👋
Screw the national Dex, haven't liked it since gold/silver.
As for the graphics, OF COURSE they are going to be similar to older ones, you know why? ITS THE SAME POKEMON.
It's ridiculous how toxic everyone is about these games, but there is reason to be disappointed. None of my favorite Pokemon are in the game and the catching/collecting aspects, which I really enjoy, seem way less robust with less Pokemon. A lot of people are saying that the campaign is short and the post-game content is only a few hours long too. Even though I love Pokemon, I'm either going to buy a used copy of Sword/Shield or I'm not going to play them at all.
