Stadia boss: “Not enough people are buying our shitty streaming service, how should we combat this?” Employee: “Well, we could fix it so it’s not shit.” Boss: “Ooh, that sounds like that would cost money. How about instead we charge more money for the same games you don’t own on our shitty service.”
Anyone else notice that the shots of the costs for Darksiders had the same price of 29.99 for US Dollars, Euros and British Pounds? That's about a 33% markup for the Brits over the USAians! Yes, I realise the Ozzies are going to be even more screwed but that is not because games companies refuse to see the dollar, euro and pound as being different currencies and having rather different exchange rates! Not going to help Stadia either since they seem to be no different from anyone else and given their games are more expensive they are even more expensive in the UK and Europe... quite apart from the fact that the EU may well be making digital games more like real world property but that is NOT going to apply to streamed games any time soon, so Google Stadia would be an even worse proposition when that happens... might even be enough to kill streaming in Europe unless it is successful in a big way in Europe right NOW. Good luck with that!
