Video Game Speedruns: A Quick History

I highly recommend going to the Games Done Quick youtube and finding, first of all any game you played and loved in your childhood trust me. Second, any Bethesda game, especially Fallout 3. Third, Portal and Half-Life. And for funsies, co-op Battle Block Theater. It's not as game breaking as the others but it is fun. And if you want to see someone play Tetris at insane speeds and eventually invisible tetris, Tetris the Grandmaster. It's damn impressive

Personally I'm a fan of Borderlands 2 Co-op and any Zelda speedrun at AGDQ/SGDQ. There have been a couple good runs of various games, but the Jak and Daxter played by Bonesaw was pretty funny. A little annoying after a while but it was worth some laughs, imo. Halo 2 Legendary is amazing to watch. Pokemon is interesting because of how they manage health, items, money, and encounters. They usually take a couple hours for no glitch, but the glitched runs are just as fascinating because of how the game can be broken. Thanks for sharing this, I haven't looked into the history before and it's nice to know where it all started.

I'd love The Know to do another video with a little more depth on speedrunning and maybe include some recommendations or ideas for The Know's favourite speedruns :)
