PlayStation Witch Hunt GOES TOO FAR?

I can see the use of a bear-trap like crackdown, this is 'ware Sony will be using for some time to come, and the less it is out there the better, and quashing some conversation is regrettably understandable, to stem the flow of those who know its out there.
But, a big but, hitting a nest with a sledge just draws additional attention and doesn't kill as many pest, compared to what a smaller hammer with patience would, as I see it.

Sony is suppressing free speech... no question. And that it is simply a case of people throwing in the towel because they don't have the money to fight them just proves that the government needs to step in to put a stop to abusive practises by comporations on the internet... and it needs to be world governments because the speech corporations are blocking is an international conversation; the more USAian companies are allowed to do this, the more the International free speech suffers, the more the fight for liberal democracy fails to the grip of dictators.
