Stay classy, Sony.
I've been a gamer for a long time and I'm tired of the console war already. The only way to solve it IMO is to allow cross play for all games. One of two things will happen, either one system comes out on top and the others disappear or they all coexist. Either way we only have to spend our hard earned dollars on one system to be able to play games with all of our friends.
I think the Closest We're going to get t crossplatform is The Minecraft servers For Consoles. But its atleast a start
It's definitely petty. And there was a great show of games this E3 for this year. So I'll respond in the best way a consumer can to the industry. I'm not buying Detroit: Become Human. My money will go to someone else.
What annoyed me the most, this year, is Sony's behaviour about the cross-platform subject.
Everyone has now decided to do cross-platform, everyone agrees to go hand-in-hand and Sony was so childish and aggressive, blaming Microsoft for not being secure, even though Sony themselves had all those network and hacker problems. THAT was the most unfair behaviour this year concerning console wars.
I really love that since Phil Spencer has become the new Microsoft boss, everything is getting better and nicer and Microsoft's behaviour about development and the players' fun has changed so much to the better than how it was during the first year of XBox One..
I AM looking forward to seeing full exclusives getting more and more extinct and becoming either something like timed exclusives, or no exclusives at all.
I am looking forward to (full) cross-platform as it doesn't really matter what your fav. console is.
Gamers are gamers and we should enjoy our games together, no matter what! :)
And I hope that one day, developers and fans will all just stop fighting as much as in the recent years, and just enjoy the gaming industry as what it is.. entertainment! :)
I don't remember Sony saying anything about Microsoft not being secure, but I do remember that, one of the theories as to why Sony is not agreeing to Cross Play is due to the requirements to connect to Microsoft. Specifically, you have to go through Microsoft's company to Cross Play. Keep in mind, when they say PC, they mean Windows 10 (not the previous versions, so make sure to upgrade, right Microsoft?), and the Microsoft store. If you have Steam, you have to connect through the Microsoft store.
In other words, Microsoft is trying to get everyone into their ecosystem under the guise of being proconsumer. Sony is not an innocent little lamb, but let us not pretend that Microsoft is a brave soldier of the people, standing up to corporate interests in the name of entertainment.
Bless you Gus :)
I honestly can't believe people get upset about the console wars. Having a ridiculous feud is some of the most fun you can have in life, as long as you don't get too personal or too emotionally invested in it. Part of the reason I hope Xbox never dies, even as a Playstation fan, is because I want the console wars to go on forever. It's like when people go out of their way to say 'I'm not a fanboy/fangirl'. Like...it's okay to be a fan of things. It's even okay to have brand loyalty, if you really like what a company's doing or it really suits what you're looking for. Just don't assume what you like is the be-all and end-all, and if anyone doesn't like it they're Wrong, and you're good.
As for this tweet, the person wasn't even really mocking Xbox for their lack of exclusives. They were saying "OUR GAME IS AMAZING and you can't play it if you only have an Xbox". Not super, but more egotistical than particularly attacking Xbox. It wouldn't surprise me if there are Sony people behind the scenes sort of encouraging their partners to push the idea of their exclusives more, now that Microsoft's out of the gate with the X1X and talking about how "the Playstation Pro is only really competition for the Xbox One S", but as far as console war stuff goes, it's a drop in the bucket compared to some of the stuff we've seen.
I'm glad the fact that success isn't dependent on winning a made-up competition was brought up. Honestly, the recent reporting trend of always talking about who's "winning" or "ahead" has gotten annoying due to its irrelevance and misrepresentation of how well each gaming platform is doing.
Honestly, I think what the the developers did here is fine. Who gives a shit if they want to brag about what platform they like to be on? The hope is the game doesn't end up being some subpar and forgettable movie/game with limited gameplay. Also if it is mediocre I don't want Sony fanboys to defend it because they dissed Xbox.
That moment when you wake up and developers still think people only own one console. That moment when the PS4 is like a 5-year-old PC because it's actually a 4-year-old piece of hardware
I own no consoles. Just my beefy ass computer.
@MochaBearBlazed And I'm vegan. What's your point?
@DavidtheWavid, you claimed that devs wrongly think people own more then 1 console. There is a whole chunk of people that game very often with no consoles or desire to own any consoles. If Sony ever wanted a dime of my money they would need Microsofts play anywhere system, not that bullshit play ps3 games without customizing control settings or graphic settings AKA play old ps3 games like you bought a shitty console when you didn't.
@MochaBearBlazed Whether or not YOU do, I would still assume most serious (not even "hardcore") gamers have multiple consoles, even if it's a 360 and a PS4, or even an N64 and a PS3. Or ESPECIALLY if they have a Switch. In my experience, the only people who JUST have a PS4 and don't game on PC are probably kids. Playing solely on PC seems irrelevant to me at this point in the conversation.
