I wish this would stop being an issue. Remember kids, showing the outside of a person is bad but showing their insides is OK.
Nice ass.
Final Fantasy 13 wasn't mo-capped, but they did a similar thing with Vanille, as if anyone would find her the least bit attractive. Spoiler for 8-year-old game. When she comes out of the crystal, she's realistically nude but it never shows anything. It comes close thogh. But a nude Vanille model is in the game files. Still, Halo 2 got an M rating for a butthole buried deep within the bowels of the game, so why didn't FFXIII?
Because buried within the files and hidden as an Easter Egg in the game are two different things. Being within the files means that the only way to see the nudity would be to hack the game, which is not intended or allowed by the developers. And the ESRB can't rate things that the developers don't intend. It's for this same reason that the ESRB doesn't give games ratings based on online interactions, because even if it's known that the potential is there for interacting with things not suited for a younger audience, (in online sense, profanity and assholes of the metaphorical nature), that particular aspect is not intended by the developers. If they rated games as M based on what the players could theoretically do without developer consent, then pretty much every game but Pong would be rated M, since gamers can have dirty minds at times and turn even simple bugs or mechanics into something "not appropriate"......
@Gamer3427 No, the model in question was IN FF13, IN a cutscene just like Beyond Two Souls.
I understand that, but the thing is that the fully "nudity" aspect of it wasn't visible. Which means that as long as the nipples aren't visible, it isn't counted as nude by the ESRB and would be "partial nudity" at worst, which is still in the teen category.....
@Gamer3427 and Halo 2 was rated M because of a butthole that was completely inaccessible that's what she said.
I'm all about equality. Primarily that of nipples. If we have to see male nipples, then it should be okay to see female nipples. Or vice-versa, NO NIPPLES!
Hey you're good at this Mika! :D keep it up.
I love this games director.
Butt artwork of our character? Send 'em my way :p
He's really in touch with his "fanbase."
It'd be nice if society would just get over it's extreme hate of anything related to nudity, (and particularly women nudity), and sexiness in video games. Doubly so since 99% of advertising and traditional media put all their efforts into promoting it purely because they want to use it to sell their product. Video games on the other hand, tend to only include it as a bonus for the people who bought their product, at worst, since it only comes out that it's even in there, after you've already bought the game. The only real exception there are games specifically made with that in mind, which tend to be either AO rated, or don't actually show any nudity.......
Seriously though. I have a set of Battlestar Galactica from the UK. While every episode of the show is rated MA in the US for sexuality (and sometimes violence), in the UK Galactica is rated 12-15. Season 3 of Game of Thrones: Not particularly violent but lots of sex, rated 15 in the UK while in the US it's MA. In America it's more appropriate to take lives with hate than make life with love.
