Just keep digging that grave...
I honestly don't understand the profit margins that Call of Duty has to make. Even though the games are selling less and less every year, they still sell very well and one would think that the increasing digital market removes manufacturing and distribution costs. How much are they spending that they would need to do this, assuming that that's what they're doing with this.
It's not a matter of how much they are spending, it is just plain greed. They are greedy bitches used to living on the gravy train and they just want more and more of that gravy, bollocks to the gamers. DO NOT SUPPORT THEM, they will never change - Blizzard or not.
It's not that they're not making money, it's that the people who profit from the company see that they're making "less money". Those with a lot of wealth don't care if they make a massive profit, or if their product is successful, but rather "how much profit and success did we have compared to last year". It's the mentality that "not as good" is the same as "bad" .....
Yikes, so glad I did not buy this game.
Kind of surprising to see this type of activity from Activision even after they merged with such the outwardly appearing fantastic company, Blizzard. Seems low even for Activision though.
I am rather proud i have never bought a single piece of DLC having to do with Cod. I still blame mw2 for starting the whole DLC ridiculousness and I am glad i can say i did not help create the ridiculousness that is this situation.
You know whats worse? On the PC original release, everything that would be called DLC today was FREE! It was community driven, all its maps and game modes. And that's what really pisses me off about this. When games like this were released to the console, paid DLC was born. I'd take an expansion over DLC anyday. At least that gave you a new campaign, as well as additions to multiplayer and tended to be more polished on release too. Dawn of war is an example of that, age of empires another.
Glad I haven't gotten COD Modern Warfare Remastered.
Destiny would have been much better as well, because bungie said that everything up to the taken king was going to be on the disk day one but Activision wanted to split it up and make people pay for it. Their CoD shit is spreading to other games.
Look, Call of Duty fans did this to themselves. You buy the same game every year and then get all mad when they figure out how get more money out of you. And please keep getting pissed at them and raging online, it make so much difference when you buy the damned game anyway.
this ancient meme has been summoned to lol @peoplewhowillstillbuycod modern microtransactions remastered
The consumers cannot blame a publicly traded corporation, whose priorities are beholden to stockholders demanding more profits/revenue every quarter or year, for fleecing their customers when their customers keep coming back and buying their products.
If you don't like the way they do things. Stop buying their games and support other game companies that provide better value for their products or charge for them in a way you agree with.
Yes, this a complete douchebag move from a company who has written the book on shaking every last dime out of their customers. But the problem lies with the consumers who support them with their buying dollars.
Unfortunately, the problem lies with the consumers who don't complain as much as anything else. While there are a lot who will complain about situations or shitty business practices, and yes, there are quite a few of those who will still hypocritically go with it after complaining, there's also a large enough fan base on stuff like that that won't complain in the least and will simply accept it. Those that don't complain and are willing to shell out money for every little thing, are the reasons companies can do such things and get worse and worse about it over time. As long as they can still make enough of a profit of of such people, they don't care about the ones who do complain and stop buying the product. It's the same reason pay to win games, and loot boxes/pay to advance quicker are so successful, since they make enough profit off of the few players willing to shell out cash, that they don't miss the loss of business from those who refuse to pay.....
thats just... so bad. imagine paying 10$ per map pack in the halo remastered. you just dont do that
