2017
Next Season
I see it as almost like releasing Aliens or ET or The Sound of Music on Blu-Ray or republishing The Hobbit or A Tale of Two Cities or Dr. Seuss. Disney re-released Lady and the Tramp after 50-odd years to gauge interest in a sequel. Why can't Activision re-release Crash to do the same?
I wonder how much the "nostalgia" is for things people actually experienced. I know I'd love to get an SNES classic not because I have fond memories of playing it, but because I had friends who had it but I never had the chance to really have it myself. Same for crash since I wasn't a play station owner. When they were new properties I didn't have much say as to what was being bought. When your young ya don't get to pick all the games (least if you're not well to do and spoiled), but now being older with disposable income, I could see myself buying these things to fill in those gaps of games I never actually had.
I've no issue with the current amount of remasters and remakes. They're necessary for a lot of good things. It's possible for the amount to become "too much", but I don't think we're anywhere close to that. It's been a good year for gaming, for both old and new IPs.
Also, the game I'm most interested in seeing remastered right now is Skies of Arcadia. GET ON IT SEGA!
