Next Season
I'm not doubting the Switch is popular but one has to wonder how much the limited number of units they ship to each store has to do with it. I mean when each store only gets 3-5 units on average of course it's going to sell out very quickly. Yes demand is high but supply is also very low. I'm also curious to see what happens when supply finally does catch up. Nintendo Switch bubble?
nope and nope.
Judging from data from JPN sales, Switch is staying above 40,000 sales a week. If there was any slow down, I'd imagine it'd be in May. We got Minecraft, Disgaea 5, and Street Fighter, but no Switch Nintendo titles at that time. Would likely return up again following the release of ARMS and Splatoon.
Switch software sales are actually doing pretty miserable. Yes, absolutely everyone is buying Zelda, but less than half have bought MK8D so far...and that's pretty much it. Last they had said, the Switch has sold about half as many games as the Wii U, which sold about 3/4 that of the Wii.
A lot of this though could be down to their staggered game launches.
I'm just saying that once again: It's not so cut and dry, and that the real success will only be apparent after a fair while. ( Probably upwards of the first entire year. )
Not enough games for me yet.
