2017
Next Season
I tend to be a super patient gamer (the only console I have is an original XBox). I stopped buying games at GameStop when they stopped selling used original XBox games. Maybe if I finally upgrade to a 360 I'll go back...
Or just get an Xbox One since most decent 360 games are backwards compatible.
That's actually pretty cool. good for you.
This isn't patience. This is you not caring enough about video games to buy a new console :)
I'm mainly online now since my internet is better than it was before. I usually go to Steam now.
I have two EB Games stores that are both about a 10 minute walk, went to them a lot when I was was a kid and still went to them later on as well but with faster internet speed I have no need to go to them anymore.
Now surprised about all the closing stores.
With the ability to buy 1 digital copy for use on 2 Xbox consoles in the same household, I rarely ever pick up disc copies. It's an awesome benefit to be able to "share" Gold service.
We have a similar issue where I live with there being several locations within close proximity of each other. It's never good news to hear that people are losing their jobs, but I think we could do without a few stores.
I buy physical for consoles and digital for PC, pretty sure the last PC game I bought physical was Mass Effect 3. There is a certain satisfying feeling I get opening a new game that I don't get with downloads. Like physical books over digital; paper trumps digital.
lets not make this political
I buy physical. BUT considering my closest Gamestop is in a bad neighborhood and the next closest one is 45 minutes away, AND because Amazon offers new games for 20% off, AND I know a place within walking distance that pays more for used games... Yeah I don't really care what happens to Gamestop at this point. It's been fun though.
I hate GameStop having worked at one before. I'll buy digital or buy physical games at a BestBuy or Target.
I buy physical, but I almost always use Amazon to get them. I'll generally only use gamestop if what I want is sold out at my initial go-to places (most recently, when all the Switch Pro controllers where out of stock).
If it does survive, it will get purchased by a larger company and downsized. That's what I think anyway
