Disappointing reveal- Linux Minecraft curbkick
HL3
I'll never understand people trying to make gaming news out of 'disappointments', unless they're trying to start an argument. There was still plenty of great stuff announced and happening.
I'm not a fan of news reports like this one. The majority of these would-be "disappointments" spawned from unwarranted expectations and information that you literally pointed out were rumors. All this does is generate useless negative ideas out of thin air, with nothing useful or constructive to add. If I see another similar-titled video go up in the future, I won't be watching it.
Clearly you've never read any op-ed pieces in other forms of journalism that amount to a very similar tone.
It's not like they fabricated any of these rumors and therefore only have themselves to blame for it not being true. The rumors came from somewhere, and they hoped they would be true. Is that so unreasonable to have a wish list of games you'd like to see and then be disappointed if certain games are neglected?
Besides, you're making their "disappointments" sound more grave than they actually are, like the Know crew are legitimately crying over this missing games. I know I was disappointed at getting zero information about Visceral's Star Wars game at E3, and I still am even after the recent leaks because Visceral has been working on this game for years already with nothing to show for it. Visceral is getting lapped by DICE already, and all we have are buzzwords that sound eerily similar to Shadows of the Empire(?).
To say that these opinions are "useless" and "formed out of thin air" simply because you don't share in this person's point of view is rather disrespectful of someone else's thoughts.
You're right, Ace, I don't read similarly toned reports, because as I said, I'm not a fan of them and how they choose to present the facts as if we should all be getting upset over them.
Right, they didn't make up any of the rumors, they reported them, and that's fine, that's their job, I get that. But generating an expectation that rumors "should" be true and "should" be presented at THIS particular E3, and then making it a point to act all disappointed afterwards just seems silly to me. And I do mean "act" because they are putting on a show after all, I doubt they're as distraught as they appear about most of these things. I'm all for hoping for the best, but I rarely expect it.
Strange, I was actually arguing that they were the ones making their disappointments sound too "grave". Perceptions an interesting thing.
Ace, my complaint to them wasn't that they had these thoughts, my complaint was about what kinds of thoughts this video seems to be intended to promote. It's a presentation, not a person.
Shout out to Mica's shirt. GO BLUE!
Go Buckeyes!!! However, love you on The Know Mica!
Probably a typo, but Bethesda isn't the creator of the Bloodborne. That'd be From Software :P
