Next Season
Well, glad I'm getting Destiny 2 on XB1 then... I am not letting a game company decide which program I am able to use Discord for voice chat, especially when they don't have a history of decent Voice Chat as it is.
It's a windows store game, so they're dead from the start anyway. They're setting themselves up to fail on PC. The thing that's frustrating, is the fact that it's an easy platform, why does everybody dev/publisher feel the need to force that market to use these convoluted systems.
I thought they were only on battle.net no?
@NOOBATRON100000 you're absolutely right, don't know how I got there... there might have been some alcohol involved
You can tell from Jon's mangled hair, distressed face, and apathetic attitude that they just got done filming a really good episode of On the Spot
chances are the measures aren't gonna do jack shit against cheating and is gonna piss off a lot of people. depending on how it goes, it might kill sales for pc because not enough people got a good impression of the pc version or something along those lines. Extreme example, but entirely possible. For me, probably play the beta first day if servers willing, get bored, and move onto playing xcom 2 war of the chosen.
I feel like they are blowing this more than a little out of proportions.
Only thing they are really limiting is that you can't have 3rd party in game overlays (IE - you can still use discord just not its in-game feature) and certain video capture software can't record footage in fullscreen, in windowed mode (borderless or otherwise) they still work. Also running the game on second monitor also works for capturing in fullscreen i think they said (could be wrong there). There also cannot be in game frame rate counters from 3rd party software shown.
Its not like they are banning people from using voice chat options and not allowing anyone to stream or record the game... This is less big news and more a fore warning to people so they don't flip out and try to riot and so people recording it can prepare / get things ready to record.
