2017
Next Season
I was very disappointed when the game dropped. I quit playing after a few hours. Went back a month ago and tried it again on the advice of my son. Gotta say, its a WAY better game. I'm actually sticking with it now. Not my fav game but I'm definitely enjoying it. Even kinda excited about what this ARG leads to.
I'm betting they'll transport to a "procedurally-generated" world that doesn't suck, lol.
The game is very different from when it launched, and it's fun to play. It would be nice if everyone at The Know could take a moment from laughing at their jokes and stop shitting on the game long enough to acknowledge that nearly a year later the game is being worked on. New things are being added, and updates are coming. Hello Games has not just given up and is still engaging with their community. Unlike what EA just did with Mass Effect.
I've seen some videos about these tapes, the hidden messages, and this could lead to something cool. The next update is soon and if this is a lead into that then great. So let's all please take a momentary break from being cynics and acknowledge Hello Games for their continued hard work on something they are passionate about.
They acknowledge it in the video...
"Ever since then Hello Games have been hard at work updating the game. Most recently in march with the pathfinder update..."
"Despite of all the initial backlash it's clear that Hello games is sticking to no mans sky, even as most of their player have since moved on to other games."
"We hope it's a win for them. Best of luck"
Hello Games is pulling a Hannah Baker.
NMS rep: "how do we get people talking about our terrible game without having to talk about our terrible game? i know an ARG!"
dude in the back: "uh aren't ARG's used to get already hyped fans to at least prolong their hype and increase it among non aware fans? 'cause we don't have any of those.. like at all"
just nope, not going back until there's actually something to do story/conflict wise, we already have enough building/farming sandbox games.
Good Job, Brian!
I'm still never going to buy No Man's Sky but I'm glad Hello Games might be trying to do right by their loyal customers.
