Did anyone ever play the Microsoft studios game 'freelancer'? that's the kind of game i've been craving for a while but the modern space sims don't tend to match up in terms of gameplay. I hope that starfield can be a little like that.
@pingu96 Don't think Bethesda is working towards a Sim. Definitely a walking, open-world rpg. If you liked Freelancer though, that's made by Chris Roberts same guy building Gus' moneysink "Star Citizen".
the biggest thing I want in this game is a new engine the guys over at Bethesda are super talented but fallout 4 ticked me off with all of the bugs and constant technical issues I experienced. the gameplay is always sold in Bethesda games but my guess is its going to be some kind of level up your character maybe put together a crew of people that are your companions and just random 'settler' type NPCs like in fallout 4. you could build defenses on the ship like guns better armor shileds and then assign crew mebers to the various decks more like star trek. i would love to see huver bikes and ground vehicles as well as some type of power suit. huge map? lets say for a second they have a new engine, if they could put that talent to use without being held back, maybe even have something with a map 3 times the size of skyrim where each planet is skyrim sized. honestly though the settlement system would make so much sense if it was alarge spaceship and it wouldn't feel so farmy/grindy everytime you find a new settlement and have to start all overunless you could find new ships cause that would actualy be cool if you could fly them even though I feel like it would probably just be a hub type of thing with scinarios where your under attack.
