God no, the game is largely review bait. Past the first couple hours it’s slow and repetitive. If I wanted pretty scenery and story rather than gameplay, I’d watch a movie.
@Ouroboros6134that was a intention and you sould better look and marketing and intentions of rdr2. life was slow. people wasn't distracted every 3 minutes with new thing, video, movie, game. they would appreciate a world, simple tasks, human interactions. i don't want to sound like old man " back in my days...". you are saying you would watch a movie. its not the same as being in the world. i read a lot about controls. i dont feel that they are awfull, not great but neither awfull. i am 25% into a game and love the slow burn. rockstar games are a way to look at other cultrue, humans and social commentary. i dont really play them for fun. i loved a scene when you are packing up the prologue camp and some mother yells " put down that book and get to work" to a child. today it would be a game or smarphone but it show you diffrent perspective. movies is quick hop and go, it can not build a relationship with tge world. dont get me wrong. i loved god of war. i got platinum trophy in it but its diffrent kind of game. you liked it more. fine. but you dont judge apple its not tasting like a banana. have a nice day. ohh maybe for me social commentary on diffrent american culture is more intresting because i am from europe.
God no. It made significant backwards progress from Red Dead Redemption in terms of mechanics and animations. They somehow made everything slower which was already a big complaint from the first one. Also fuck the online and its micro-transaction bullshit.
Personally for me, no. The pace it wanted me to play at just turned me off it and annoyed me. Making me bored with it and dislike it more than like it. I still have not finished it because of how slow it wants me to play and I don't feel or care to go back to it.
Personally, I believe the tech graphically in it deserves praise of such a caliber but on the whole, absolutely not. In the mix of everything that came out this year, I felt God of War and Spider-Man were the peak with Spider-Man being my personal favorite and God of War being the best package all around. The slow pace, the stiff controls and the formulaic structure, plus the troublesome direction of online hold it back from being flawless. It still sits in the upper echelon of the year’s games (i would call it in the top 5 range, top 10 at worst) but it is held back enough by flaws that I cannot call it the best
The team that made god of war worked extremely hard for years to produce a amazing game and tell a amazing story. RDR2 feel like a rushed, unfinished cash grab instead of a labor of love.
@Hudsonhornet99 red dead 2 was in production for seven years before launch... rushed? Have you even played it or are you just that much of a god of war fanboy?
@Derajeyakyes i have played it, the controls suck, it to slowly paced, and all of the quests are repetitive and boring. If it took them 7 yeard to make it thats just sad
