Today's a holiday so we're not in the office to make news. Instead, we drank way too much coffee and spent time pouring over all the sexy games that might not be allowed on Steam anymore. For professional reasons.
@DavidtheWavid Well to be fair, There was a song about shooting up a school that had to be a billboards top 100 song, that was literally played everywhere including some schools.
@DavidtheWavid What you clearly don't understand is that shooting people up and ripping them to pieces is an entirely natural thing but dicks and boobs are the work of the devil and must be censored at all costs </sarcasm>
Steam has games that I have to input my birthday for violence, so what's the big deal? I'm assuming there is a similar screen for these games. Job done.
My favourite so far (that has some boobs) is Everlasting Summer, the reason I like it is the story though - it might look like a typical VN but it's not, really, really - I think I suggested it for Game Club for that reason! :D - It also had (might still have) a very active community adding mods and extra story to it as well as translations and the like. I believe it also has a short sequel.
Other than that are the numerous VNs but to be honest the better written ones seem to be found on Itch more recently - it looks like Valve has been scaring away customers well before now (and given some of the stories I heard even before the recent round they definitely have) and and those customers are taking their games somewhere where they aren't sure if they're going to lose their platform (and fans and money etc.)
At first, they came for the games with scantily clad protagonists, and I didn't speak out because I'm not a pervert. Then, they came for the ecchi games, and i did not speak out because I'm not a weeb. At last, they came for "Mount Your Friends" and I could only watch in horror because there was no one left to speak out for me. 😭
I would love more of the occasional vid that tackles things that may get it demonetized. One of the best things about RT as a platform is that you can cover things like this without the constant worry about the financial impact that it might have and in my eyes it adds a lot of value as a First member. Also not just talking about "oooh, titties" stories but anything that needs to be discussed in a more mature fashion such as discrimination, orientation, drug use, or the like. You always do a great job on The Know of trying to present things in a impartial and well rounded manner as possible and is honestly what I consider the bulk of the value I get out of said membership. Keep up the great work.
These games are definitely being the guilty. Guilty of being SO TOO SEXY! And macho.
okay even on this site, nobody makes Strangerhood references...
Oh and don't forget Mass Effect. Bunch of moms almost got it banned back in the day.
