Brian and Ben look at the recent backlash from Shadow of the Tomb Raider being discounted after only being out for a month and ask the question, when is it okay to for a game to go on sale?
My question for this is who actually made the decision to cut the price, Square or Steam?
In addition, I don't own the game but I wouldn't get it for PC myself, I would go PS4, but if it wasn't across the entire market then there's obviously some marketing move going on specifically for PC, or someone seriously screwed up somewhere

I did buy Shadow of the Tomb Raider early. I loved the last two games. I've got like 120 hours in Rise of the Tomb Raider. Shadow was a disappointing follow-up. It felt unpolished, there were quite a few bugs, it was unbalanced, and the writing was just ok. Don't get me wrong the game has some excellent moments, but over-all it felt like it could have used another six months to a year in development. If I'm honest the price cut feels like what the game is worth.
For how it was discounted by 47% on steam for the game and all dlc in less than month that is pathetic. Also, never preorder, buy the season pass, pay "microtransactions", buy day 1.
The game is well worth 60 bucks, every one who is unhappy about a sale can go fuck themselves. Also, stop review bombing, it just makes you an asshole.
I pre-ordered a steam key from Green Man (wanna say 15% off?) and as a fan of the franchise I'm happy with my purchase. Not real sure what to say if we (gaming community) are complaining about products going on sale "too soon?" 🤔
I feel getting pissed about this is nothing but childish. You know a game like this will get discounted, timespan is inconsequential. And if you enjoyed the game at full price, then so what as to when it happened. If you didn’t, then the price drop really doesn’t matter either. And to review bomb because of that after the fact is just asinine. Grow up and get over yourself.
