my biggest disappointment was clearly the strategy game award.. i played them all except banner saga 3 and into the breach is a nice idea, but its not compareable to full games that give you easily 100 hours of gameplay like valkyria chronicles, or battletech. or the great storytelling of frostpunk..
also frostpunk has a absolutely awesome soundtrack and wasnt even nominated for that :/
My favorite reveal was definitely Joker. I wanted him in smash so badly but didn't expect them to actually add him to the game. Plus there's more hope for a switch port now and if they put Persona 5 on switch I'd buy it again even though I already have it
Yes, the AAAs have had their game awards, what I'm looking forward to is seeing the Indie games Award Ceremony... <silence> *tumbleweed* ... right... Game of the Year my ass - there are a dozen better games out there than any of the ones that got "nominated" (read "slept with the committee who chose who was going up there") and dozens of more original ones but they are the harder to find indie titles so tough luck to them I guess... geeze, even Steam does a better job of not looking like they are running a booze cruise style evening for the rich and famous... wake me up when something relevant to the grassroots happens.
BENbenbenbenben no how the fuck is a fuckin 200-hour game like Persona gonna make it to Switch? Way too big. No way. [can't do enter on my phone] I guess I have to try God of War now. But honestly I'm just glad to see my Stargate peeps getting more famous. Jason Momoa and Chris Judge are now household names! It's amazing!
