He did what a Pirate does, get got a crew, he used said crew, he stole, he plundered, he is a Pirate, if people arent happy with that, jump in the ocean, i heard it needs more salt.
@FriskitwithaBrisket Except there's a whole 'crew' system already in place, that allows for people in the same crew to advance at the comparative same pace when, you know, turning in spoils for reputation and coin. On top of which, they go over that, and it follows with him apparently talking shit about boosting, which he proceeded to do.
Aside, there's the whole issue of the next update being tailored to the play style of the first Legend, which at this point, what, amounts to asking for handouts, taking them, and going "... Well thanks, bye!"
@FriskitwithaBrisket Except he literally did not do that. He ONLY joined crews as they turned in. He, once receiving 'Pirate Legend', did not know how to get a quest and or even where to sell chests. He didn't even know how to exit a dialogue menu, which is literally the first thing you MUST do to actually progress (without cheesing). You can't even get a treasure map without dialogue. The guy LITERALLY did nothing and it was purely for publicity. Mika, "my dude", uninformed reporting is bad. Do actual research and don't read only OPs reddit post; irresponsible. Spending 10 minutes skimming through his past live stream of the game will let you understand why people are annoyed, he literally does not how to play. He neither 'stole' nor 'plundered' he was invited and sat there, then left. Definition of afk farming. So if you are going to make the argument of "well he did what a pirate does" - you would be wrong. A pirate would actually dig treasure, kill, steal etc.... Not sit on his ass vaping and watching videos while he sits in a lobby while streaming.
@chiefwillis You're absolutely right, the name of pirate is being sullied by this streamer who is really a banker rather than a pirate - much worse and, as you say, they just sit there and make money without putting any effort in at all and gaining from the effort of others.
@chiefwillis I actually talked to him and the people he joined with. He did a 16 hour grind one day and closer to the end of the stream he started forgetting things because it was flippen 16 hours, you're gonna be groggy after that. It was basically a 80% grind, and for the final part he was offered help, and who wouldnt accept help after grinding for so long? So he took it, he didnt use people, they chose to help get him up there. So no he didnt do nothing
I have to say though - he called out the problem beforehand and, even if he did use it, he gave the devs time to fix the problem - even if they had to use a quick fix. But they didn't - they also put in almost no effort to gain big so I don't really see how they and this streamer are any different except he was making virtual money and they are making real money... so I guess that makes them worse. Had they delivered a decent product that was more than a beta or demo then fair enough but they didn't, they had warning and they didn't bother to expend any effort to avoid the problem in the first place so they deserve a community up in arms against them (and the scapegoat streamer).
