Telltale Games WRONG to Complete Walking Dead Instead of Paying Employees?

I dont think ive ever played any telltale games, but im very concerned for the workers that got laid off, this is super unfair and just straight out backstabbing for those who have been there working their asses off. I hope they do the right thing by the workers, after all, we are all paying attention

Life imitates art.... Just like in telltale games, you get a hard choice that doesn't save the day but gives others something unique to remember you by .... what will be the final choice for a doomed video game company. I don't want to give preference but if they finish the season I will buy it just to see Clem's story end poetically.

What I don't understand is that Telltale must have known that their closure was imminent before the final season of TWD began to release even its first episode.

I don't see how they can fulfill this ending thing without addressing the workers who were let go. Heck, Clem's voice actor tweeted that they were kicked before doing enough lines to cover the finish. They literally don't have the audio to back up their promises. Maybe I'm being cynical about it, but I highly doubt there's any weight behind the words beyond something to placate people until they give it up as a lost cause. The whole management of this is giving me a bad taste in my mouth.

Is it possible that they are showing other companies what they have set in place with the walking dead and where they were at in the last episodes and try and get the rights switched over to another company finishing the walking dead and not telltale idk if that’s a possibility but that may explain what they meant

Didn't the telltale company shut down because they ran out of money? How are they supposed to pay severance when they have no money? I agree that the layed off employees deserve to be payed a severance, but at the same time, the dissolved company cannot just magically create money.

I was absolutely devastated to hear of TWD ending, but I will 100% allow it to not be finished if it meant employees could get severance.

I love TWD and I’d love to see Clementine and the end of the story. But the ex-employees come first.

Union protection definitely needs to happen. Video game employees need to be treated with respect and decency. Tbh the industry is like a big unethical minefield sometimes, and I hope this is a lesson and I'm glad people are saying the cut employees deserve their severance, because they do. This shit shouldn't fly anymore.
