I'm a little suprised that red dead 2 wasn't on anyones list, btw my top 5 would be 1. god of war 2. lets go pikachu/eevee 3. spiderman 4. super smash bros. 5. destiny 2
So far? I think my personal list would be 1. Into the Breach, 2. Battletech, 3. Dead Cells, and... I don't actually know if I played other games with final releases in 2018 this year.
I have been *really* digging Hades, from Supergiant, though. Just need more time with it before I could make a call on that.
(This list may change radically come Boxing Day when I pick up a PS4 and God of War...)
i wish i could of liked dragon quest 11 more but i diddnt find it much fun and the music is really bad esp on the back of xenoblade 2 (the last jrpg ive played which has wonderful music) but afer 8 hours or so i just diddnt feel any need to go back to it
fwiw
1 xenoblade 2 (it had dlc this year so im counting it lol)
2 nier automata (xbox release this year)
3 Pokemon letg go eevee not a long or hard game but fun
4 forza horizons 4
5 erm detroit become human
played more games this year but they just havent got me so ive been playing old games from my backlog
@steadjonat I loved Xenoblade 2's DLC/Expansion too. It literally made the original game's story better by adding a lot of background and context. Probably my favorite gaming experience this year.
I'm in a similar boat with Dragon Quest XI.
I'm playing it right now (about half or 2/3 done), and... it does a few things well, like its area/world map structure and many aspects of its visuals, but overall, it's just not doing it for me. JRPGs are the majority of what I play, so it's not the cliches of the genre that bother me, it's just a lot of the fundamental design choices that I suspect are just baked into the series at this point. I'll finish it to make certain, but I don't think I'll be revisiting this series ever again. (Sorry Brian, if you're reading)
@GodDamnItsChris I love League of Legends! Played a LOT of it in college and then decided to scale back to make sure I could focus on graduating and never quite got back into it, but I still love watching it.
Ben thumbs up for the Destiny 2. They've done incredible. 9 new supers and just the amount of stuff to do both felt ambitious and just made the game a lot of fun.
Cricket I almost feel a need to thank you for your 5 and 4 just because they're both games that I've found more fun not for what they are, but what they can be. At times it can seem a little half assed (and sometimes it is) for you to make your own fun, but in the right worlds. It really is fun when you do just that.
As far as my top 5
1) Destiny 2 Forsaken
2) Monster Hunter World
3) Smash Ultimate
4) Super Mario Party
5) Overcooked 2
I only have a One X right now so I only got to play a few games that came out this year. With that said my top 5 are
5.) Sea of Thieves
4.) Hitman 2
3.) Monster Hunter World
2.) Assassin's Creed Odyssey
1.) Red Dead Redemption 2
