I wonder if there demanding padding on the stairs and better railings too, if they're worried about being shot they must be really worried about being killed in a fall because they're four times more likely to die in a fall than from being shot. I'm all for security at events and stuff but people need to keep it in perspective, it's not nearly as bad as people think from the way the media reports it. I've seen folks online (and may be they're just trolls) from other countries saying the used to visit the US all the time but won't now because of the violence with out realizing that the US is safer now than it's ever been. Fear really is a bad thing an no one should let it dictate there lives.

Twitch con is no more dangerous that any sporting event, concert, university function, or other gathering. These things happen all over the country every week and it’s incredibly rare for there to be a problem.

At least y’all sighted deranged people and not “ZOMG GUNS BAD!!!!” like most folks would. Thank you.

Pfft. This is like vowing to never fly because a plane went down. The shooting in Jax was horrible but it doesn't make a convention like Twitch Con any less safe. They are very different in terms of size and security, avoiding one because of the other implies a connection that doesn't exist.
