I was bummed to hear Ashley was leaving the Know but I love everyone else in the Know family and have been enjoying Jenn and her contributions to discussions. Love you guys and keep up the cheeky banter :)
I really don't think RDR2 is going to win. its not very good, people really don't like the story mechanics, its a wild west simulator, people want a wild west movie simulator, its too slow, and has too many issues. God of War deserves it
sad that the best 3 games of the year are ps4 exclusives, also i don't get the multiplayer category, destiny launched 2017 and fortnite is in beta...if i would have to choose it would probably be fortnite and i'd say that destiniy is far from deserving to win i'd put the new cod and rainbow six over it(if it counts?)
Not trying to disagree nor invalidate, however I’d like to ask: Should we be giving Destiny anything for what they’ve done to “improve” the game when they launch in the state that they did?
@Cpt_Clueless333 just saying, do we really want to be praising them fixing a broken product, or would we rather praise a game like Rainbow Six Siege or Overwatch or FortniteBR, games that have been supported over time, not fixed over time.
@Cpt_Clueless333 I guess I’m still salty with Bungie and Destiny. I was an early adopter for both of the Destiny games, and being fucked by your favorite dev in that way isn’t a great experience.
If those classes all stick I'll have a difficult decision to make. Played Mordecai in the first one, Zer0 in the second, and Athena in the pre-sequel; having two classes in the Hunter/Assassin category is simultaneously awesome and infuriating, lol. It'll probably come down to their abilities & aesthetics, or maybe I'll do two playthroughs? Damn, I'm so pumped for another Borderlands!
Played both DQ11 and MHW. For "Rich character customization and progression" MHW wins by a landslide. DQ11 has a better story and better story characters, but its customization and progression is as basic as it gets. MHW gameplay revolves around that description.
Game Direction: Outstanding creative vision and innovation in game direction and design. Only one of those games has something I haven't seen before: A Way Out. Spiderman, GoW and RDR2 are all standard 3rd person with rpg elements. Detroit is just another David Cage style game. Can't think of a single game that does the entire game split screen like A Way Out does. Art Direction: Outstanding creative and/or technical achievement in artistic direction and animation - RDR2 hands down. Thousands of animations and lighting make it the best looking game of the year, every frame is a wallpaper. Score and Music: RDR2 - Emotional impact by perfectly placed songs (Beginning of Chapter 6) and (Beginning of final mission in Chapter 6) wins that for me. Best Multiplayer: Fortnite by sheer popularity. GOTY: MHW is game of the year as I have played it since January. Yes all fucking year.
