@OniZonda As for the name change, I think it'll be in the next big update (relatively speaking), but this PSX is when they said they wanted it done by during last year's event. It's understandable if they push it all the way until December, however there's only been a couple of major updates in Dec, from what I recall. I just looked up a history of updates and whole number revision happen between Sept and Oct with a handful of updates before the end of each year. This means it's possible for the name change to come with the next one but the PSX event will likely be timed with the last update of the year so that could be the one that enables the name change. I would expect maybe 2 updates between now and PSX in Dec which would give us 3 by year's end.
On a random tangent: Technically the reason name changes weren't allowed in the past is because when you created your name, your unique ID for store purchases and trophies were tied directly to it (that's a general understanding of it anyway). During one of the updates in the 4.XX version of the PS4 firmware, they disassociated your unique ID from your name so it was theoretically possible to keep possession of your games and trophies through a name change, they just didn't make it an option (if the internet is to be believed). I'm guessing this was to build it up and provide a testing stage until it was ready so it could be unveiled and presented as a fully functioning feature without crashing their entire network. A misstep like that could ruin everything.
