Personally, I'm waiting for gen 2 switch with the hope they fix all the flaws in gen 1. Aka all the things you buy from third party, things like a battery attachment with a better kickstand. Online Chat. etc etc.
I want to get a switch but my thought process was that it might lower in price closer to Holiday season. I want to get Monster Hunter in August and Pokemon in November :D
Oh I don't know maybe that Monster Hunter game they just glazed right over. Since the rest of the Monster Hunter games have been on DS and such throughout the years, That may help a little with sales.
@nightfire145 people really forget the gravity of Monster Hunter games. As much as I'd love to play MH World, I dont have (or plan on having) a PS4, and the switch is the perfect console for MH. It's everything the 3DS offered, but with far stronger graphics, controller options, and software power
@extragarb exactly my point. they had a ton of games that were great on the ds and with how the zelda game did and how it looked just imagine what they could do with all the other games that were on the smaller processors of the ds but bulk them up, make them bigger, or make then looks so much better. The one thing the ds had over the rest of their consoles was mobility which they made a great stride with the switch and its great mobility.
@stefanni_mah I did some research, basically if you plan to play single player games at home, gen 1 is perfectly fine. If you play games that aren't battery draining if you are playing it on portable gen 1 is also fine. As Ashley said, Nintendo is very single party heavy, the stuff I mention only affects very little and some accepted it as is. Gen 2 may come in 2022 base on Nintendo history of their next gen consoles.
Somebody get Brian a lint roller! But really, I don't get what's up with the Switch. My girlfriend and I own the Switch and a PS4 and on top of the 7 games we have for the switch (not including freebies) we're planning on buying 5-6 more over the next year.. Definitely not that way with PS4. Is hardware that much more important than game sales?
I just wish they would release the Virtual Console on Switch. The Virtual Console, which allowed you to play classics like Earthbound, Metroid, and MegaMan, is the only reason to still own a Wii U.
One big factor for me getting a switch was pokemon but the game they announced is not what I was looking for. The only switch gamesi'm looking forward too are Mario Party and a third party game my friend pedro.
@captianShade as a pokemon veteran (gen 2 all the way) I know what you mean. The core main series game we want is coming in 2019, and its better that way. Let's Go gives them a whole game to build and curate the pokemon engine on the switch while also expanding the audience a bit, as well as giving them the time to properly put together the main series game. It's better to wait a year than for them to push a rushed gen 8 game out the door this november
