Surely this isn't a patent on the technology of POTG, yeah, surely they are trying to patent every highlight in video games ever. And yes, replaying the last kill in a COD is EXACTLY the same as Overwatch's POTG system guys, surely it's all the same technology, right? Lets just get a bunch of morons on the internet mad about another wrong thing, I guess the good news, is that all these idiots don't actually give a fuck and won't care by Friday morning. So anyways good video, I'm glad you guys are really bringing the news and not spreading bullshit hatred for views. Kappa keep up the good work.
@Skeezy5000 I don't think it's fair to say it's the same exact technology since one is all ways showing you the same part of the game. In the case of CoD it's always the last kill. I think the argument is the algorithm used to create OW's Potg is unique and original to OW
@FoxandFANGS No, CoD has been doing POTGs for a while now. Not to mention a ton of games have been doing POTG before Overwatch. They certainly didn't invent or revolutionize it.
The play of the game is so old it is ridiculous, they have been doing POTG clips since football has been on TV!! Doing it in video games is also old and found all over the place - though primarily in sports games but there it has been a standard thing for as long as computers have been able to handle it (decades) - I even remember an Amiga football game that had a "play of the game" feature and that was the eighties!
Yet more evidence that the very idea of IP is moronic. You cannot steal an idea because you cannot remove an idea from someone's possession. Ergo, it's not possible to have theft of ideas. Patents are merely a way for the wealthy to try and dominate markets using government power.
