I actually enjoy the direction Valve is heading. I get why people are upset about some of their decisions to pretty much leave some games on a cliffhanger, but they are (in my opinion) the most welcoming of fan and indie creativity of the gaming giants. If Valve would give us HL3 or Portal 3 and they didn't live up to fan expectations after waiting years for release, Valve would have a large stain on the company (not that it would really affect them money-wise). Allowing fans to use some of their properties and often embracing them (Valve-supported mods) lets any upsets with fan developments be discussed as a community and leaving for some seeing it as non-canon if they so choose. VR could hold value in other fields other than serious gaming such as a teaching tool for special needs students, which I would have never thought possible with the technology, so I'm excited to see what an industry giant can do in with VR, since smaller companies focusing on VR often get overlooked (except for those looking specifically for VR games on Steam.
@Horobi00 Motion sickness the game: now with controlled disorientation. I’m not disagreeing with how cool that would be. I am imagining the increase in VR related vomiting from flying through portals.
