No Man's Sky Refunds Offered for Players Locked Out of Multiplayer

So once the devs for this game knew it wouldn't work for some people and didn't tell people till after the game launched. Seems like more of the same from Hello Games. Good for them offering people their money back, but it is still scummy in the first place. It really bothers me that RT is just giving the devs a pass for what they did when this game first launched its like they forgot that Hello Games knew that they were releasing a game that was no where near what they were promising then didn't tell anyone until the refund period on steam was over, so people couldn't get their money back.

so the devs knew this would be an issue and still pushed it and didnt tell anyone until release? and on top of that GOG is the one offering refunds out of their wallet, not Hello Games? Yeah Hello Games still isnt winng me over. thats pretty shitty

NMS is a fun game but these constant dodgy moves by Hello Games is just so off putting. The game on steam is up at $90 NZD which is what you would pay for a brand new AAA game, not a 2 year old indie game. I picked it up in GOG for about $20 NZD in anticipation of the new update with the intention of playing it with my friends, but Hello Games have decided to "withhold the truth" again and not tell people what is really happening, and I have taken a hit because i can't play it with my friends. sure I could refund it, but then I will need to pay the hugely overpriced cost to get it again, which simply puts more money in the pockets of a company that has persistently lied to its consumers. i was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt after reports of Sony pushing them to release an unfinished game to release, but withholding the information that multiplayer is not available on what is quite a big service like GOG just tells me that they are just up to their usual antics of ripping people off for an extra buck

I enjoyed NMS from the start, even despite the numerous missing features and vastly simplified systems compared to what Sean Murray had indicated. It has thankfully come a long way from that state and is a lot more enjoyable now. That said, I'm still holding out hope for more things from the trailers to make their way into the game.

What do I think of the update and the game in general? Mmmm.... well let me tell you 2 days into playing this "game" I use that term loosely on PS4 the game has a stroke screen starts vibrating randomly, camera goes haywire, controls lock up, audio freezes.... and the dreaded blue screen happens oh hey what do you know the game crashed. Fine this is not outta the ordinary right? So launch the game again everything should be ok right? Wrong as soon as I launched the games and selected my save got back into the universe to my surprise what do I see? The game has completely erased all my progress no ship, gear, resources... nothing its like I had just booted up the game for the first time and yes before you ask I was playing on normal not the perma death mode. Another thing I'd like to mention is I restored a class C explorer ship a few hours before that whenever I tried to use my cannons be it mining, actual combat or just shooting at the ground my weapons would do self damage to me without any clear reason as to why. So long story short I recommend people don't buy this. TL:DR Don't buy this due to fatal crashes, progress wipes, bugs that heavily hurt player progression, Hello Games still being sketchy since 2016.
