I love how these lawmakers completely throw out the fact that parents are supposed to be responsible for the media their children consume.
It's not new. In the 40's and 50's it was comic books and in 30 years it'll be something just as stupid.
This guy sounds like the Penguin. I kind of wish someone like Richard Branson somehow helped arrest him.
gg life
Taking "Don't hate the player; hate the game" to the wrong conclusion.
its the same usual crap that politicians do. scaremonger and use something as a scapegoat that the older voting populations may not fully understand to get votes and media exposure. I doubt many of them actually have any evidence that games cause violence
I don't think any of them do. There have been studies that say the opposite or that the effects are so minor that the arguement isn't valid.
Ain't nothing to it, gangster games made me do it.
Sounds like they're speaking middle english. "Thank ye."
Edit: Aw, Meg said it too. :/
Woooooooooosh
I'm pretty sure the order of what the favorite media people blame for the world's problems goes Jazz, comics, rock and roll, violent movies, rap, and now video games. Obviously there is some overlap, that said any bets on what becomes the new favorite scapegoat after video games.
Something like facebook? I'm shocked it hasn't happened yet.
@darktemplar7 I doubt it, too many old white people
Hate to get all political, but gun owners. Maybe not the world's problems, but certainly America's problems.
I'm gonna guess it'll be violent VR games
It really drives me nuts how a man can commit literal treason (punishable by life in prison or death), and only get 5 years in prison because he's a senator. I just cannot wrap my head around it. Leeland Yee is one of the only people on this planet that I truly literally hate. Not dislike, not prefer to not be around him, but honestly truly hate him.
Why do people honestly get so caught up with "save the children"? Maybe like idk, be a parent and decide what is and is not appropriate for your kid based on who they are as a person.
