And I'm here sitting alone in my room waiting for Pokemon Go to be available in south america -.-
"- they could call it Ingress."
Dang, Gus is just a savage
They had to tell everyone what we already knew because people jumped the gun. Yes it's successful, yes Nintendo will make money and it's good buzz for future games and apps but it seems like people just wanted to get in on the action and jumped the gun.
That said, if Nintendo wanted to add AR and map data to future pokemon games it'd be way better than Pokemon Go could ever be, but it wouldn't be able to have the same amount of players.
Just as long as it's not a required part of the game, such as making certain pokemon exclusive to AR elements. Some of us live in the middle of nowhere.....
If they were to do it then it should just be a glorified pedometer. Hatch eggs in real life, have a few pokemon pop up per km and raise friendliness with a specific companion pokemon. And when you find a pokemon you can fight them in AR. Maybe create a secret base at your home that acts as a battle place and special pokemart for your friends.
I like to think that what's going on here is that Nintendo has been having so much trouble in recent months and years that the fact that Pokemon Go is succeeding so spectacularly scares them.....
Can't find it right now, but there was a report that said given Nintendo's share of Go that half the world's population would need it to justify their share increase.
... Can't be far off though, right? :P
But mostly all Nintendo needs to do is cash in on the Pokemon hype. Push merch, games and events as much as possible for as long as they can.
Or, given that our pokemon are linked to our sign in accounts, create partner apps which let us do other stuff with the ones with caught. Animal crossing meets pokemon go? ^^
Or Pokemon snap-chat :P
Charge for those, but keep the main app free to hook ya.
Please tag shows with their icon in the thumbnail. I didn't need it in this case because all click bait titles are for the shit show, but it'd be nice in differentiating between AH, Funhaus, and etc.
just saying if nintendo started releasing their handheld games on mobile phones i would become a very poor man, but i would have a sweet library of nintendo games
agreed. I don't want to spend 200$ on a gameboy 3ds just to buy a 35$ pokemon game. If I could skip the Gameboy step and just pay for a digital version of the game I could run on my phone or tablet. That would be game over for my battery and wallet.
Wouldn't we all
Holy Shit.... I thought I was the only one who remembered Majestic. I LOVED that game.

Nintendo seems like a company that will drag out its successes for a while, staying relatively close to the top, and just blowing everything away once a decade or something.
