Im def picking it up. ive played every final fantasy to date. Also the ending feeling rushed in my opinion isnt a bad thing. after putting dozens of hours into a game youll probably want your closure quickly instead of a game that feels like lord of the rings and its ending that just keeps going and going. plus rushing through that ending gets you to the notably well done end game content. so it sounds like just what i was looking for. Cant wait to play it!
I have something to confess. I ordered a PS4 last week just so I can play this game. While watching Kingsglaive, I squealed with glee when I realized that the Chancellor was clearly influenced by Kefka, and squealed more when I saw Ultros (the octopus monster) in a scene. I even bought the "deluxe" edition because the case art was done by Amano, so it will match my The Sky box-set on my coffee table. I have a problem.
I got the Kingsglaive special edition and almost got the Deluxe Edition from Gamestop to get the steelbook of that too, and the 2D minigame, only to find they were sold out.
That is good to hear that it is good, but like everything it does have it's faults.
Wonder why the the audio sounds kinda tinny at the end of the video?
Oh be quiet Ashely. Final Fantasy XIII was far better than 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8 and most FF games post 10 (FF15 reserved due to no recommendation yet).
I liked it for the art style, music, and story, but the gameplay was terrible and the entire trilogy is a train wreck so riddled with plot holes it looks like swiss cheese executed by firing squad.
I've done my waiting.
Ten years of it.
In Azkaban.
Of course I'm getting this game. My CE is going to hopefully be waiting for me by the time I get home from work tomorrow.
Dude, I wanted to say that too but didn't want to sacrifice the "twelve years of it." Great minds, yo.
A hi5 to us. We deserve this.
Never been a huge fan of the FF series, though I played a few on SNES. But this is the first time in a long time since I've seen an FF game and been like "... wow, I really wanna play that." Wont be getting it, though, unless they release a PC port :(
well ive played every final fantasy ##, so yeh ill get this one too
What happened to the audio in that final segment?!? :D
This honestly might be the first FF game I play since 7. The letsplay/watch AH did made the game look fun especially the dancing killer cactuar. The combat seems..odd and a bit clunky compared to dark souls and it is a bit disappointing if the ign review is to be believed that the magic is a bit reduced compared to past games.
10 years. When this game was announced, FF12 was less than 2 months old, and 15 was intended to be a spinoff and companion to 13. It's now the second-last hope of saving the series from the 13 trilogy that wrapped years ago.
In that time, I've gone from a 5th grader who never watched cartoons or played video games, who just wanted his best friend to stop talking about this Final Fantasy thing, to a die-hard Final Fantasy fan, gamer, and animation student halfway through college, no longer friends with that kid, who isn't a Final Fantasy fan anymore.
But the theme remains the same, the concept remains the same, and the main characters remain the same, albeit with a few redesigns and a few new names.

Sounds like a fun game. Maybe I'll pick it up when I've got a month to dedicate to it.
