So is pewdiepie falling in views and that's why hes doing this?
I think Let's play videos as a genre have been on a steady view decline since 2012-13. If you need an example go check out the average view count of an AH, Game Grumps or SBF video then compared to one now.
So basically, you'll never put boobs in the title without putting boobs in the video?
Understanding human nature and using it is fine. It's the purpose that understanding is put to that matters. Clickbait is taking advantage of the worst parts of human nature, and only those. Art (and news) can raise people up, or it can pull them down. Mass donations to charities after a disaster are also part of human nature, as is our tendency to help people we feel personally connected to rather than strangers. But that's not clickbait.
You will never change human nature by pandering to the worst parts of it for money (or clicks). You have to educate people before they will understand, as you pointed out.
So why not do that? Rather than copping out with excuses like 'everybody does it, we have to do it too to stay relevant', and then just keeping right on with it unchanged.
Take the lead. Don't just report on it, take a role in helping fix it. You clearly don't like clickbait either, and you have an audience and fans, which the rest of us don't. Make a five-minute weekly video series on the Know, each covering a specific type of clickbait, why it works on people, and why you should avoid videos like that.
If they made their videos in order to change the way the audience thinks and just stopped using clickbait, they probs might not be around for long enough to make a dent. And the audience that watches the know already might not be the audience that the clickbait is aimed at. The flashy titles are for bringing in people who won't watch it. Them not using making titles like "Dota izzzz gay???" will just mean that people won't take notice of it. The five-minute weekly video series on clickbait just won't get watched by someone randomly jumping around on youtube (I think). If you gave it a clickbait title and then tricked someone into clicking it, when they find out that they aren't interested in whatever's going on they'll just switch videos.
8 billion users... The math here feels wrong
Shoutout to that poster of Arron Marquis in the background
Why don't you upload the video twice. One with click bait and one normal. Nevermind the upload times and stuff.
how about youtube just adds a like/dislike bar in the recommended video section(s)
oh cuz then youll be more likely to see just good content and not waste time on shit stuff thus driving up their revenue at the cost of your time and general video quality? ok.
just install one of those stupid add-ons i guess
I was absolutely wondering about the sandals.
Glad they cleared that up.
It's garbage and you clickbaited me.
But no, no one really has a choice but to play the game as humanity sets the rules...even as humanity complains about the rules it sets.
That was garbage! I'm never* watching The Know again! *Until your next video is released.

Does this mean he hates The Know? Like seriously, look at your titles guys, let me know if you see a pattern (HINT: provoacative wording with all-caps words, phrasing everything as a quesiton, etc.)
Did you watch the video before commenting? They address their own video titles, and admit to their use of a few of these methods.
