How petty are they?
Why are all the videos lately interlaced?
BT probably has one guy getting paid minimum wage in the basement constantly writing lawsuits towards big companies that they know are bogus because if it pays out it could be billions
Except "writing lawsuits" doesn't exactly work that way, at all.
Whats the end game for BT? Their history of lawsuits just seems expensive and in the google lawsuit, counterproductive?
Also why steam? why not Xbox or PS4? do they see steam as smaller and more vulnerable? seeing as I'll forget about this whole situation in like 12 hours, it would be rad to see a follow up in the future to jog my memory! lol
Sony and Microsoft are some of the biggest software companies in the world. Windows, Office, and so much more with Microsoft. Then Sony makes everything, from TV's, PS4's, homes, and much much more. Both publish and distribute products around the world. Going after those two would be insane. Now Valve is a big money maker, but Microsoft and Sony are bigger in time, and resources. There is a reason that Bill Gates is/was the richest man in the world.
Speaking of steam, anybody down to play some Steam or Xbox games? Steam: noahkelley1109 Xbox: Picklehairs
"A method for delivering structured messages comprised of information and data parts to an intended audience in a reliable and predictable manner"
That could be used to describe TCP/IP(You know, The Internet fucking Protocol), they could sue anybody they goddamn felt like with that patent alone... Can we just get rid of software patents already? They've never helped anybody and are only ever abused by dickheads trying to make money off the hard work of others.
Are you serious? Get rid of Software patents.. Okay, say we did that. Tomorrow, I'm going to invent a software called JewTube that is a carbon copy of YouTube but gives 1% more ad revenue.
Go nuts, as long as you don't infringe on any of YouTube's copyrights or steal any of their licensed code. You forget that YouTube wasn't the first website of its kind and it won't be the last.
@Brythespy Oh my god that made me laugh so fucking hard.
So... If I understand this right, BT is a British cable company?
That explains everything. Just like every other cable company, they're bitter about people moving to internet for their video entertainment so they're suing everything they see as part of the internet or part of a way to watch things.
Wonder how this will turn out.
Thank you Ashley for describing the difference between Patent, Copyright & Trademark in past videos so that I can understand what each means when they come up in news stories.
For non-Brits: BT are cunts. They have a death-grip monopoly on the telecoms networks in the UK and run it poorly, they have a customer service experience on par with a fungal infection, and as owners of the telephony here they regularly are the limiting factor in speedy resolution of service issues for UK ISPs.
Their shadier ad campaigns include their recent billboard announcement that they have the "the UK's most powerful WiFi signal" in what could be seen as an attempt to dupe less tech-minded consumers.
Them owning literally every phone socket is a hell of a monopoly but for my area they are still head and shoulders above Sky and Virgin in speed and reliability.
So basically they're what Comcast strives to be. Got it
@DavidtheWavid Actually, imagine Time Warner Cable's reliability, mixed with Fairpoint's just general shittyness, with good ole Comcast and their poor quality, disgusting customer service, and yada yada on top. But multiply that by, oh, about 50.
Pretty sure most homeless people can read, Burnie. Stop.
When will money-hungry companies quit trying to get money years after they claim to have been infringed upon? Stop. It's ridiculous. Stop. Stop! Stop.
The reading comment was because they didn't tell him he'd be labeled "homeless guy," it's just a jab at the broadcast guys calm down.
I sort of assumed they put those in during post and thought that was a response to what he said.
Edit: Stop.
those patents are so broad they cover about all the multimedia services in the world... Never gonna stick, cause if it would they would also have to go after microsoft, sony, ...
