One I'm going from EA, is the announcement of BC titles being added to their EA access service.

This is a bad move, they'll lose several potential customers because of this. I know there are other companies like blizzard for example that have their own conventions, but they have a certain fanbase already, and those wow, starcraft and diablo players are hardcore as we know.
I don't think a lot of people will say "Let's go to EAPLAY to play some fifa, nba,nhl, ..." Might be wrong about this tho.
On big events there are more people from a wider public and i think that's the kind of public EA has to attract.

Let's be fair EA's conference in E3 was rubbish. The majority of people cared about everything BUT the sport games and the longest portion of that presentation had Pele! No one cared! If we did we wouldn't be watching!

I find it interesting that you didn't mention that companies have dropped out or taken years off from E3 before. Nintendo has done simultaneous events before too. This is just the first time those two things have been combined.
