I can see why this happened but it just goes to show that porn in general is still seen has something bad or horrible. Even though it is safe to say a majority of people visit these sites.
It seems like YP should make it's own ESL
Ryan is from Georgia and lives in Texas... still rags on NASCAR. Long live The Mad King!
Stuff thats fun and mostly legal is bad, but games that feature gratuitous murder is good!
Honestly I think this move is mainly focused on gambling sponsors (as gambling gives ESports a bad name, I'M LOOKING AT YOU IBUYPOWER) and porn just happened to get caught.
Not really it more had to do with the fact that if they had a porn sponsor any tournament they went to couldn't be broadcasted on twitch. Not to mention this is pretty common in the business world, even people who don't publicize their investments rarely want porn on their portfolio.
My god, why can't we be like France for once? OR BETTER YET, Combine both interests! GORE, DRUGS AND BOOBS! Like holy shit.
That sounds like a great game!
@Wynaro it is already a game. It's called Duke Nukem Forever
So, how is this different from other sports that allow sponsorships?
It's not and that's what their saying, why are the mature themes of violence and alcohol ok and porn isn't.
I feel like because of all this stupid stuff esports does now a days people watch it less and less. I mean clearly they have tons of viewers, but I feel like at some point they will hit a cap just like every other sport out there and unless they are more open to thinking and doing things outside the box it will be just like all the rest and die in it's own unique way.
people have been saying esports is going to either blow up or die for decades. Not allowing porn sponsors is pretty much status quo in any event, especially sporting events. Hell investors don't even want porn companies on their portfolio because it will hurt them when they try to invest in other companies.
You think it's possible for all the porn on the internet to come (hehe) together to just buy esports and finally start getting past this crap?
I do feel it's unfair that the team got banned even though they offered to almost completely remove themselves from YP, but in general I think it's good that porn industries are removed from events like this just because of how badly sites like YP treats content creators (?) on their websites. This is nothing against pornographic content, but more the way that those types of sites treat the people making the content. That being said it is pretty hypocritical of ESL to ban pornographic things but not any of the other illegal or mature happenings.
More boobs, Please!

Guess that means Splatoon will be the only shooter in eSports
