I just switched to PC last November and Destiny was the only thing I missed so that's cool
too bad I probably won't be able to keep any of my gear I got from playing for 300+ hours, I played it an unhealthy amount of that game
I know no one cares but here's proof of around 1200 hours on destiny http://imgur.com/a/0Tzvo
1200 active hours? You never just left the game on in the background? (BTW that wasn't a link, but I'll choose to believe you)
No I always close my games when I'm done with them and even if I did leave them running destiny closes it self shortly after idle time, 62 days is what it says which converts to about 1400 hours I decided to subtract 200 to be generous incase there was some idle time so yeah, I had no life when I played destiny
As long as I get to keep my emblems, shaders, ships, etc I wouldn't mind starting new characters.
I've spent a ton of time collecting kiosk items, and I'd feel kind of betrayed if none of that carried over. I'd even be fine with the old content not being there initially as long as it comes back eventually.
Eh, as long as I get to keep my Mythic emblem.
i cant imagine player levels and items carrying over to a sequel. when DOES that happen? im thinking halo multiplayer levels, gta character stuff, forza cars, diablo levels/items, titanfall, cod, battlefield. its a new game. you have to start fresh like everyone else.
Except Gtav on ps3 and 360 you could transfer your player to PS4 and xbone when they released it on the new generation and you could transfer a character from last gen to PC when they released the PC version!
The only major difference is that Destiny is a continuing story, and other then Diablo none of the games you used as examples have that for their multiplayer. Not that I'm disagreeing with you, just saying that there's a counter argument.
I just need my silly dances from the silver shop
I don't get why people are mad about about characters not carrying over. Sequels never really worked that way and plus carrying anything over would just leave pc players behind. It makes much more sense to start anew since it's an entirely new game not just another content pack.
Agreed. However, give me some gun/armor skin or something to acknowledge my maxed characters existed
We should get an emblem for being a Destiny 1 player
It's because at the beginning of the franchise and throughout the years, Bungie confirmed via multiple staff (including the Community Leads) that our character will progress throughout the entire Destiny story. That's why some people kept playing, because they have a sense of progression and attachment.
The PC players that wanted to play it should've gotten a console. It's not like they're forced to be without since chances are that they have the money waste. Plus any new player would be left behind anyway so it's a moot point. "I don't want the people who have invested 3 years of their time to have something that I don't have" is a weak argument and frankly doesn't make a difference to those who are PC players who have been around since the beginning because they were willing to invest in a console and/or have a console already. Not to mention that your skill as a player will make up for that difference in level far more than any weapons or armor that might be carried over (strictly speaking in terms of PvP since they have always put everyone on a pretty equal footing for that, regardless of time spent in game and gear loadout). I don't want to lose my progress unless it's story based and even then, it's iffy. I wasn't too keen on the way Mass Effect did it when I finally made it to the sequels, but I suppose it worked because of how they did it. And as Destiny was sold to me, the guardian I started with was supposed to be the guardian I ended with. I don't mind so much if they change up the abilities and weapons, but the actual character itself should be the same as well as granting me bonus XP for having played so much of Destiny 1 if I have to "start over" (or however they handle it). Knocking back all the players who have already spent hundreds of hours in this franchise just to get a couple new players will do more harm than good. The loss of the original player base can't be made up with the general number of PC players that are interested in Destiny. Not saying that PC gaming as a whole is small, just that those interested in this series specifically is obviously going to be a lot smaller than that entire side of the industry. Overall though, having a total reset on the table is bad news for bungie since quite a few of the current fans might start jumping ship since what they're doing now doesn't matter and that would put the sequel at risk to be less successful since those same people might not be willing to buy more iterations if they know they have to start over. I'm sure that it will be fine for the most part and a lot of players will buy it anyway, but bungie listens to their fans and takes into account what people want and figures out a way to help everyone, if at all possible. Not exactly sure why I made such a long reply, but I feel like it covers the majority of why I'm "mad" about not being able to carry everything over and why it's not a good idea in general.
Yes, PC please.
I love it when Ryan's on the know! Don't let the rest of AH bring you down for it Ryan!
ryan is literally a typical destiny player. complains and complains about it, but has like 1000 hours
Ryan: *complains about destiny*
Also Ryan: *plays destiny 100+ hours*
I feel like most the fan base does that
The only thing I'd like from Destiny is to have friendly NPCs in combat areas. Like if Cayde-6 actually helped fight Oryx when he was supposed to be joining you on the mission.
Don't worry Ashley, I never got into Destiny.
It would be nice to get a story
All of this basically sounds like Destiny 1 was more or less a very early pay to play open beta. And more or less when destiny 2 comes out, their going to wipe everything and let everyone start on the same footing. If this is coming to PC I hope this game gets the standard Blizzard lvl of treatment and not the kind of treatment PC gamers have been getting recently.
I just want to know if the Reef Queen Mara Sov is still alive
