Honestly, all the internet hate only makes me more curious about Infinite Warfare. I'd like to see a new meaningful mechanic into the game, much like Titanfall/Advanced Warfare did with the exo suit/parkour thing. That was certainly a good one.
At worst, I'll take the more imaginative one.
I haven't even played cod since modern warfare and im annoyed by all this bullshit hate over the fact that its just skinned as futuristic because it gives the players more game mechanics to play with/use
I pre-ordered. Not ashamed of it either. I want that remastered Modern Warfare experience. But to be honest I've been sick and tired of the super sci fi direction of CoD recently because I hated what Black Ops turned into after the first one and advanced warfare's multiplayer was garbage compared to the at least interesting story it had. CoD in space to me at least has an interesting notion of potentially cool story telling that frankly CoD has been missing since the Modern Warfare trilogy and Black Ops 1 to me and was worth a shot to see how it turns out. If it flops it flops and we the internet get to be happy with them going back to modern or very near future weaponry shooters after it fails. If it succeeds then hooray i get to say i was right and have enjoyed the game before most. Either way its a win win for me! Plus, its CoD... regardless of preorder numbers we all know a ton of people are still going to play it because of Space Zombies, fast paced competitive multiplayer, and micro transactions for crazy character customization we all know are going to be there.
While I have not preordered the game, I am definitely going to buy and download it day one. I just can't be bothered to take the effort right now to buy it ahead of time when I can just download it on my Xbox on the day it comes out without any downside.Despite all the hate the series gets, it is my favorite casual shooter.
My biggest complaint with the series is the sci-fi direction it has taken. I miss the days when you couldn't do all the crazy aerial acrobatics and you didn't have to be looking above your head every other second. As I've said, the draw of CoD for me is it's casual nature and I feel the past few games have lost a bit of that. I would love to see the series go back to its roots with a classic ground combat game without all the sci-fi tech that lets you fly around or run on walls.
Question, why not preorder? If you know you're going to buy day one why not take advantage of the extra free stuff. personally I don't like preordering, I don't like throwing my money at something that hasn't been vetted yet, but some people do and you seem to have already made up your mind why wait.
While I can't tell you what to do, and totally respect whatever decision you make with YOUR money. By buying the game, you are completely contradicting what you just said. They're going to see the numbers, and affiliate them with positive reactions from gamers and not change anything
I dub it, Call of Duty: Halo
ADAM - FARCRY 5 COMFIRMED
Thank god! I was hoping that people wouldn't just dislike the trailer but honestly not order it. Its one thing to show them we are not happy with words and dislikes but its another thing to show it by not supporting it with our money. I own all 12 COD games. I said after Advanced Warfare if the direction doesn't change i'm not buying the next. Well then I bought the next one (BO3) anyways, because there was nothing else that offered a war shooter. This year I can stick to my guns and not buy COD thanks to Battlefield 1.
There will always be those who prefer graphics over mechanics in games and most of the cod fanboys don't like futuristic graphics.
I wonder what the pre order stats are for battlefield 1 in comparison.
It's also failing because it's the only way to get the remaster of CoD4.
I think its great that gamers are finally putting there foot down. For the past 2 or so CODs, we've been upset at the setting getting pushed farther and farther into the future. No one wants that and it seems like the Higher-ups of Activision and Infinity-ward are blind. Makes me wonder if they even look for reviews from fans. Here's hoping the same people who disliked it will refuse to put money in the greedy pockets by refusing to by it. I know I am, we've said what we wanted, and Activision gave the big FUCK YOU to all of us. Im just glad Battlefield listened. (Although i have heard it was a hard decision and they almost didnt go through with it)
But space...
I've kind of got to feel sorry for the devs. They thought they were developing a Call of Duty game - the development equivalent of shooting fish in a barrel - and now they find themselves at the mercy of forces outside of their control. If this really is all a result of CoD fatigue then its really not their fault, and credit to them they seem to be trying to do different things with the IP. A few years ago it would certainly have worked.
