Unfortrionate but honest mistake.

It's probably a completely honest mistake. the real issue is how much effort is put in to remedy the situation. let's see just how much agency a game corporation is willing and/or needs to practice to be ethical. might shed some honest light on the modus operandi of these companies we all hate to love and love to hate.

if this happened to me (a white guy with a weird name) I would be completely okay with this until I was still refused after trying to correct the mistake. This doesn't seem to me to be a matter of discrimination but a society and culture that has been taught to scream racism, discrimination, etc. whenever something seems against them regardless of truth.

The problem is that we force other cultures into the Central European naming convention of First Name/Last Name (not Western European, Iberia has a different convention), leading to cultures where names are significantly longer, and the component parts are generally from a smaller pool, having much fewer "names".

For example, Alexander Siddig, (the actor who played Julian Bashir in DS9) has a full name of Siddig El Tahir El Fadil El Siddig Abderrahman Mohammed Ahmed Abdel Karim El Mahdi.

First name/Last Name is a poor system to work with, we should move to Preferred Name/Full Name.
