Fucking great, I hate people who shit talk games they didn't pay for.
Man, I miss City of Heroes...
Yeah, I was unfortunate to want to try and play after they closed down the servers, my timing is shit
To be fair, one game being uncrackable probably won't make much difference to the pirates, especially in such a bloated market. But if it gets to the point of every game being uncrackable I think that publishers may start to see more people actually paying for their games. Which might even have a knock on effect to indie developers.
A pirate probably just wouldn't play a new game if they couldn't get it for free, as long as theirs a large amount of other games they can pirate that are just as new. The industry needs all AAA games to embrace this in order to kill off piracy in my opinion.
Let's say a new Destiny and Halo are both released around the same time, but you could currently get Destiny without paying anything, I think a lot of people, who may have bought one or both, would find themselves getting Destiny and then forgetting about Halo. The PC industry is basically that but with countless potentially free titles and only a few you can't escape paying for. Why bother with the ones you have to pay for with all these free equivalents everywhere.
There will always be people who will pay for games nonetheless, but to stop someone who's in the mindset of getting everything for nothing, I'd say you need to take that option out of the mix completely. Make the grass seem greener on the other side with lots of shiny, new, uncrackable titles, that way they might actually start paying when they look back at their desolate wasteland of old titles they were able to pirate. Even if they're only able to get one game at a time, as apposed to their mountain of pirated games from before.
That's my opinion anywho.
I hope we see piracy reduced. If PC becomes a more profitable platform we might see better support for PC ports in time.
Why would anyone pirate games? The Steam Winter Sale is effectively robbery, and you have access to multiplayer :D
I honestly hate piracy, it can go disappear of the face of the earth for all I care, but I still wonder what would happen if publishers didn't have to worry about it anymore. It sounds like a good thing, but it also sounds like the start of a video game dystopia. I don't know, I just get a bad feeling whenever I think about it.
Want to know what I did when I wanted to get a game but was too little to get employed? I did chores either at my home a family member's house and I didn't get much but the better I worked and the faster I worked the better the pay. Did I only get one or two games a year from that, yes. Did I care that I got so few, no. I did what I had to do to get a video game, a.k.a. I got off my lazy ass and earned it. ____ Piracy can kiss my ass. Do I respect hackers/crackers for their abilities to do what I can't? Yes.
its hard to crack denuvo because its new at some point it wont be nearly as effective anymore
and honestly i like pirating to an extent because it allows me to have proper demos of games which i will and delete if i dont like or buy it if i do like it
