Go Lord Gaben!
So blah blah, Oculus sucks, whatever.
The thing is, look at it from Oculus' perspective: their Rift, solely as a peripheral is inferior to the Vive in most ways. But most ways are insignificant, the thing that's throwing people away from Rift is the lack of independent controllers. They've planned them, but as it is right now, Rift simply isn't competing with Vive. So the only option is exclusive titles.
All in all, I really can't see a good ending for Oculus. VR headsets are essentially just monitors; very advanced monitors, but monitors nonetheless. And performance-wise, both Vive and Rift are the same. The difference is if you pay $200 more you get controllers and a more refined positioning unit. So it looks like Rift might come to a close shortly.
Unless, of course, they partner with Microsoft and instead make the Rift the Xbox's VR. That's the only way I can see Rift being remotely successful
This is basically a fight between people who want to make VR like consoles and people who want it to be kind of closers to pc, but then again pc isn't the only type of computer and few people make things for the others. It's going to be fasenating to see who wins, since people will complain about how it ends no matter how it goes.
Praise Gaben!
