Currently doing a vanilla run through to get the achievements then I will start experimenting with various mods

the best way to do it since by the time you finish getting all the achievements there will be way more mods for you to play with.

Don't know what platform you play on, but if it's PC, then there is a mod to re-enable achievements while using mods, so you can use the unofficial patch, "The Cutting Room Floor" (this one brings back cut content from the game, including NPCs, some quests, and other miscellaneous content which was created but never implemented in the game by Bethesda) and other quality of life improvement mods when they come out for the most bug-free vanilla experience possible.

Also, mods.bethesda.net isn't the only way to use mods if you're on PC.

Welcome to the rabbit hole kids have fun starting a new game of skyrim and never leaving Riverwood because your to busy playing with new mods. Also always keep a eye on your load order it will help with the crashing.

I do love how so many of the sponsor offers are "free, just pay shipping". Technically if you have to pay shipping, it's not free lol

One thing that might skew the results of Skyrim: Special Edition, on the PC the game was free if you have Skyrim and the DLCs before a certain date.

But it is nice to see the console getting mods; not a huge fan of the Bethesda mod manager but it is a step in the right direction.
