2016
Next Season
Thought that may be confusing for some so I'll give a present example. The NBA (basketball) league has just started the playoffs and tonight the Spurs play the the Grizzlies (San Antonio vs Vancovour). The line is -12 San Antonio and over under at 183. That means you can put a bet down for the total points scored to be over/under 183 or you can bet on a team. Now if you bet on the San Antonio Spurs who are the favorite you have to win by 12 pts. Many times in major sports guys are bribed to not loose but make sure the win less then the money line. Big money is there for those who are betting, paying off players at times
Can't wait to see the E-Sports version of Tom Brady.
"He was found turning down the sensitivity on the other teams mice!"
Is this not the same as any other sport before it got big I mean im sure other sports like football ( American and British ) basketball or hockey had similar problems when thery were going from a competitive game to a professional sport
that prize money table part. dota has 60m but at least 60% of it is from players buying the compendium (and leveling it up)
If you ask me, general hackers in games should be arrested and fined the same way as people who vandalize houses with spray paint or break windows. It devalues the video game for the people who play legit and ruins it for the entire community.
Cut off a finger each time they're caught. Then they'll need the hacks to compete.
And yet, sites like Draftkings haven't been shut down yet and continue to flood the market with their annoying commercials.
"wtf
Don't report it man
wtf"
gota love idiots on the internet.

To be honest this kind of legitimizes eSports. While I absolutely disagree with the cheaters, match throwing has been around for centuries. Basically if there is big money on the line, it's an option. The most popular and one of the oldest on record is the 1919 Chicago White Sox baseball team (which banned Shoeless Joe Jackson for life). *see field of dreams. But thrown games have been a large part of "major sports" for awhile. NCAA basketball has been batteling point shaving for decades (Not nevessarily losing but winning by a certain number). For those unaware a bet is placed on a game not whether a team wins or loses, but on the "line". The line is when a better team faces an underdog the better team has to win by a certain amount. Check ESPN.com or any other sports site this year for the NFL and you'll see the line. It's not whether a better team will win but by how much. For instance in the super bowl this past season you don't get to choose just who wins straight out, it is leveled by odds makers "by how much" While I despise cheating, it does show eSports are becoming legitimate. Follow the money.
