You know what game i really enjoyed that cost me full price? .Hack & .Hack GU both game series were 4 different full game disc each, that's 8 whole games i paid full price for and i loved them they were all amazing.
If it comes out for the XB1 I'll give it a try. Granted that's mostly the nostalgia talking. Here's hoping it's worth it.
ugggggghhhhhhhhh
Super excited about that idea. FF7 has a long story and if they break it up so that we can get a full quality HD FF7 I won't complain about multiple releases for the story.
I'm excited for this. Gimmie now.
I think the main reason it is going to be bigger (besides graphics, VAs, and new systems) is that they also have to add the extended universe of the FFVII now. They will add elements to make the connection to all the OVAs, Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, and Crisis Core into the game. It kinda makes since as to why it is such a big project and releasing it in chunks means it will be in our hands sooner.
This way we won't get the stupid long 10 year development of FFXV if we get a release in two or so years.
Also no save Aerith/Aeris think would added for sure since that will pretty much make the ending and everything else not work.
Sooo....Tetsuya Nomura working on this remake means we won't see the 3rd part of the story until 10 years after the 2nd part, right?
You get the Buster first, then for next part we'll have the Sword.
The full game releases isn't exactly unexpected, really, considering Square Enix's track record. The story not being immune to rewrite has me a little... worried. Update it, sure. It could probably use that. Change it too much, though, and it just becomes an entirely new game with Cloud and friends and not AT ALL what I think most fans are looking forward to.
I'm cautiously optimistic though, simply because the immune to rewrite concept could be more situation based rather than story based. With an real time battle system many of the situations where the world could stop so we could have a red rover red rover battle can't really happen. Here's hoping the don't pad it, but if they change some locations or mechanics are added to enhance a situation then maybe the combat could have as much impact as the story itself. Gambling on long odds but hey they've toyed with the idea of a remake in the past and turned it down repeatedly, so someone somewhere convinced someone it could be done right.
I think they mostly need to reformat it to end it on different episodes. They can't sell us just the fight with Sephiroth for $60.
I wonder if we get to see Crisis Core added to the story and maybe one of the games will be him as the main seeing as he was voted fave FF character in Japan, yes even beat Cloud.
I've been hoping for an anthology collection with Before Crisis, Crisis Core, Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, Last Order, and Episode Denzel in one package.
I liked FFVII. It was a good game. I enjoyed playing it back in the classic PlayStation era. This new thing is not FFVII. It's a new series of games starring the cast of FFVII looking shiny and less pointy than they once were. I don't want this. Maybe when it comes out I'll take my nostalgia and just play the original again, because it still exists and that's the game I know I enjoyed. I used to think a remake of FFVII would be cool, but after seeing what Square thinks a remake should be I have completely changed my mind. Sorry Square, but you done f**ked up already.
Yeah, after this shit I'm basically going to wait until 2-3 years after the last installment releases, THEN buy the lot for the price of a single full game. If I get it at all.
