Hopefully the new, slimmer One will be less expensive so more people can move up from the 360
Doubt it, slimmer is more expensive in tech. Not to mention 2tbs of stirage...
That's actually not true. The reason they make slims years after release is because they developed smaller, more efficient components that generate less heat. Less components = less cost to produce. That said what will prob happen is the new slim will cost what the normal one does now, and the normals will drop in price.
:Troyrusty: Agree but disagree...They came out with the xbox 360 slim for around the same price as the normal at the time. With some great impovments but with a small 4GB internal HDD. Unless you wanted the bigger HD from the Elite which cost you more then the Original 360 at that time. So they gave us a more reliable smaller xbox with the slim for the same price...but with a big hit on the storage. Now if what they are saying about the ONE slim is true that it will be smaller and better plus a 2TB HD...I see know reason Microsoft will make it cheaper or even the same price. Plan for more $$
I like this concept. Instead of buying a massive lump $600+ every generation cycle thats only good for that cycle... roughly $200-300 for fairly big performance improvements while still playing the older stuff and only replacing modular components basically makes a much cheaper, much more open form that's everlasting like PC gaming which has always been superior format if you could afford it. This would explode the gaming communities just like xbox live did with halo 2, the shear numbers of xbox 360 and ps3 and wii did, it just all around makes the best long term sense to keep this industry around for as long as possible
Word of advice to anyone that has a wife...Don't have this video playing when she walks in. You may get something like this "wait what? a new xbox.....hell no Brandon don't even think about it. You better sell all this electronic stuff first...Like why do you even still have that 360 thing? You told me you would sell it when you bought the Xbox One thing years ago...Jesus....Grrrrr" Door slams :)
Dude I feel your pain, she is even less impressed that me and both of my kids have 360's (still waiting for the money to get my Xbox One) and she doesn't have one lol
I hope they invest in a way to make transition consoles easier. Te movable hard drive to fit into the next console to pick up and go. And maybe a system where you give back your last one to get the new one cheaper just to keep us in the ecosystem
Good. I need to update soon. My current One's disc drive is broken and my controllers have trouble connecting.
Get a PS4. Problem fixed.
Doesn't have achievements
I'm interested to see what they unveil at e3 this year.
I left apple because of this. Hey I got a new ipho... oh theres already another one. Going to Gamestop or ordering online every year, though isn't physically demanding, is just more wasted time. I had a feeling the 360 would be the console we all looked back at and said, 'those were the good ol' days', They just can't make things easy can they. Gotta have those new consoles bringing in large, lump sums of cash instead of just making a maintenance hatch on the back so we can just easily install the most up to date hardware.
I seriously doubt any of this will come to fruition. There may be a hardware revision, but it will be a functionally identical machine in most ways.
It may be different in small ways, different ram, a bump in clock speeds etc, but there will be no significant difference.
[removed because they said what I said in the video]
unless you can turn in your old xbox for a big cut in the price I don't see how this will work. I don't want to pay 300-400 dollars every year for new console. At that point I might as well build a decent PC that I will only have to update every like 5+ years.
Nice blouse.
Who decided to call it 'teraflops?' Someone had to consciously make the decision to use that silly word. I love it lol
Flops - floating point operations per second. Tera - 10^12. Teraflops - 10^12 floating point operations per second.
