I'd rather wait for better quality
I'm completely fine with their decision. Square Enix has always stood out to me for releasing incredible games in both story and gameplay and without game breaking bugs. I have no problem waiting for this game a little longer and I trust in SE's decision. Despite me wanting to play it and having it preordered (for....3 years, now?) I know it'll be worth it.
I have no problem with developers delaying a game to make it even better. How can that even be a bad thing? I thought people didn't like buggy games. I guess what they actually don't like is having nothing to be angry about.
A delay or a patch, what are you talking about? Even with the delay its probably going to have a big ass patch to download when you get it.
Here's the thing though, those who are getting the game digitally don't get anything out of this. They still have to download a big game file, and now they just have to wait an extra two months. So who cares if the delay was to give physical owners a day 1 patch? Those who go digital or go home only got a two month delay
Not really, that is the kind of stuff you get in a day 1 patch. Again, all this extra optimization is done ONLY for disk owners who CANNOT connect to online services. So those who ARE connected to these services are only getting a two months delay with no benefit. Customers who have bought the digital copy don't get a better optimized game, cause the optimization is being put on the disc in these two months
I am a life long FF series fan, I applaud them for taking the extra time instead of releasing a broken pile of shit. We all remember how great batman was right???
I honestly wish more devs would do this, though I get the feeling that the profit margins on video games these days make it a dangerous thing to do. Maybe they should just wait to announce games until they're closer to 70 or 80% done?
Sometimes I forget why I dislike the Funhaus crew, then I watch a Know read where they do nothing but spend the whole video making bad "jokes" aimed at a game developer who seemed to be more emphatic towards his audience than 99% of those in the field. Personally, I give major kudos to the XV dev team for delaying the game for the purpose of quality and because they're thinking about people who have slow or bad internet connections. I know personally I live in an area of the US where my only option for internet with decent speed is satellite internet with a 10gb a month data limit. When a lot of day one patches that don't even do anything but add a few bug fixes are 2-3gb of downloads, well, that can be problematic to dedicate a full fifth of your monthly data just to patching in something that could have been on disk. And I know a lot of people even just here in the US are as bad off as me when it comes to locations causing internet problems. Several of my friends from around the country would have to download for at least four or five hours for a 2gb patch. And this is just in the US, not even considering a few of my friends from smaller countries around the world where the idea of "fast" internet is a 5mb download speed. Which is particularly problematic considering that most games are released these days so that they're all but broken without the day 1 patch.....
You clearly didn't watch the video.
@orangesaregood
I did watch the video. It was them talking about how XV was getting delayed by a couple of months because the dev team wanted to make it better and part of that reason was instead of making it a day 1 patch was to allow for players who didn't have easy access to downloading day 1 patches to still get the full experience from the game......
Except that is how games are now. If you don't have good internet then your going to suffer. This is a fact. I am one of those few people but I don't want people to have to wait 2 months just so I get a "better game". I would also rather play the game now when it good rather then later then as a better game.
I don't mind delays as long as the game works unlike some other game we won't name NO MAN SKY
I just bought my collectors edition strategy guide too...

I know the video isnt even out yet
But seriously what the fuck Square Enix
Is two months that long to you? There are other games that you can play in the meantime.
Haven't watched the video yet
This game has been in the works for almost a decade now and they still don't have it working yet?
I've been waiting patiently so I think I can be a little ticked off about the delay
So what you're saying is you're fine waiting a decade for the game but a decade and two months is where you draw the line :P
Maybe it's just me but I'd be more pissed if they rushed out a game to hit a certain release window after this long than them taking a little while longer to put more work that they feel is necessary into it. I don't know though, that's just my feelings on the matter, not saying you can't be pissed about it because that's how you feel obviously.
Square Enix doesn't owe you anything. Espically a game that hasn't even been released yet.
