I like the Gearbox mentality with Borderlands. If you see an exploit, use it to you're heart's content
I don't think bans will happen. At least not in mass. And if that is the route they decide to take it will only negatively effect future iterations of their products. On a side note, The Division got me back into Destiny. So that's odd.
If it is a code issue then the player is not at fault. They should fix this the code in a patch and be done with it. That is not the players fault it is the developer's.
Okay, I wanna say this, with experience QA testing with AAA publishers, UBISOFT NEVER SHOULD HAVE RELEASED THIER RAID WITHOUT EVER HAVING BEAT IT THEMSELVES!! That is seriously what we, QA testers, are for. Making sure your content is fair, balanced, and bug free so people aren't looking for, let alone DEPENDING ON bugs and exploits to beat content. So admitting that it was so hard that the Devs couldn't beat it fairly was their first mistake. Ubisoft has no one to blame but themselves on this one, and if anyone is up for getting punished, it's Ubisoft, and not the players
In order to do this exploit you have to glitch through a wall. Clearly that's not how the game is supposed to be played. Saying that because you can use the exploit you should use the exploit is kinda like saying "she was dressed like a slut so I thought I could rape her". If you use a glitch in a game you are a cunt, plain and simple.
I would agree that its a coding problem... but since you have to leave the group and rejoin it your actively engaging in the exploit, I don't agree on bans to people who have done it, but if they added a log in message telling you not to do it and then you do it anyways then ban away.
But the players have been playing The Division... isn't that already punishment enough?
If they want to try and rebalance the game some to account for the bug, they should go the Witcher 3 route and have a government official or someone like that show up and have the player hand over high level gear that came from the raid under the auspice of the Government needs more weapons somewhere else and New York has a surplus or something.
You're welcome Ubisoft
i think ubisoft should loose their servers for a month, like all of them. FUCK THEM. you do not punish others for YOUR mistakes
Why is it that they didn't just change the Hp of the Tank to some absurd number that would make it so that even players who exploit would need to take 6-8+ hours to finish it. They can scale the value of the C4 explosive used to destroy the tank as well, so the mission if done correctly dies the same way it would have before.
Since is is probably much easier to change some values in code than to rework a whole skill tree or revamp areas to avoid the glitch from being used.
Just saying some gamers will always find a way to get what they want as easily as possible. Just as an example, some players in destiny just kept re-rolling characters in that game and powerleveling them to get around the wait for raid drops because at the time that was the easiest thing to do for them.
That's just not something they should do. I do not personally play the Division myself, But, setting down punishments for something THEY left in the game is the pure results of a fool's mind. Players are not in the wrong here, Nor is Meg. It again, was left in their game. And by the sounds of it, It sounds as simple as using cover then jumping over it through a wall? Sounds simple, something THEY overlooked. This should be their punishment for releasing a constantly bugged/broken game. Patch it and say sorry. End of story.
*Edit: Spelling mistakes*
*Further Edit: Also Ubi, why would you EVER release a piece of content that even the people who created the game couldn't finish? How do you know there are no bugs or exploits such as these if you can't even do the content yourself. Hell for Blizzard's next Warcraft expansion they should just release it, why even try the content out themselves or put it out as a beta for the community.. Oh wait, they do because that's how you make sure Things work.*

so what happends if everyone gets banned?
Ubisoft bans everyone, realizes what they have done and then tries to sweet talk everyone back into playing
