I don't see widespread 4k TV screens for a while (at very least next-gen consoles) anyway, so... meh. 1080p or 1440p is perfectly fine for now.
My stream was on a medium quality at the time so that kinda of hurt their points...oops
Aha What a let down. Thank the mighty PC gods that I am part of their race.
PS4 won the beginning of the generation with its smaller size and weight, touchpad rechargeable speaker-imbued controller. Xbox won the mid-generation war and possibly "final-gen" with the Scorpio
I don't own a PS4 myself, but there's so many exclusives coming out this Fall that I've been planning on getting this upgraded PS for months. Considering that situation, I think it's a worthwhile investment over the standard model. Also, everyone should've realized it wouldn't run 4k at 60fps. It's still just a console. My PC can't even do that and it's no slouch.
Oh look, the console peasants are rioting, because they got duped by their corporate masters. MUAHAAAHAHAHAHHHAAAHA, oh Gaben, aren't they precious?
Why riot now, consoletards? You got duped all those years ago, when you spent 500 dollas on an obsolete piece of DRM-infested junk. That's what you get for being PC-illiterate.
*drives away in the Gabemobile*
I don't own a 4k Screen, so it's no issue or me.
Neither do i mind that it's not a 4K Bluray player. As everything is Online anyway so it's unneeded.
I'm probably gonna get the Pro anyway.
Not unneeded, like Ryan said people who are interested in 4K are interested in having the highest visual fidelity.
For instance I have all of my media digitally other then bluray, because at the moment no streaming even 4K steaming, has better image quality then a standard bluray
Whilst the Scorpio is going to be more powerful the 1 year gap could be detrimental to Microsoft. Let's not forget the PS3 was technically more powerful but coming out a year later was very damaging for sony
This doesn't surprise me at all. I have a 40" 4k screen for my PC and I don't care about 4k gaming even a single bit.
I was onboard with the PS4 Pro until they said that they want to focus on the 4k content, Sony, why? Just give the devs the priority of making the games work great in 1080p and with ultra details, instead of pushing 4k on a hardware that obviously was never meant to handle it (AMD has been losing the GPU race for quite some time and is now producing more of a "mid tier" GPUs compared to nVidia - the RX 480 which has similar specs to the PS4 Pro is definitely not a 4k designated hardware but it is the budget "end all" 1080p solution).
I'm fine with the graphical options of the likes of Tomb Raider where you can switch between modes, this good, more of that please, sure it should be super easy to implement since it's basically already built into the game for PCs.
We don't need 4k this generation, focus on solid 1080p first, kthxbye
Also, who the fuck came up with this ridiculous design of the console?

Even if the Scorpio was the better box... They dont have the games i want to play so doesnt really matter to me... P5 , FF7 Remake, Star ocean 5, Dragon Quest Builders , World of Final Fantasy... Theyd have Tales of Berseria but i have Steam for that so meh...
With that game lineup, you don't really need the extra power anyway.
My sentiments exactly. Even from 2013, the PS4 has had a much better lineup.
