2016
Next Season
Nice.
Sadly I left Pokemon after Ruby and Sapphire and moved on.
Haven't been pulled back yet. Maybe the next game will.
If you liked Ruby and Sapphire, then I'd say pick up Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Ruby and Sapphire were my favorite generation to begin with, and by far the ones I put the most time into, and the updated versions were great both because of nostalgia, and because they updated enough to still make it feel like an improved version of the game. In particular, they added a couple of mechanics and areas that were good, as well as an additional story section after you beat the pokemon league that fit in pretty perfectly with the generation. The only downside I'd say is that they had a rather bland Battle Resort instead of the area from Emerald version which was by far one of the best post game areas.....
Imagine a RT pokemon tournament! Kerry, Micca, John and whoever feels the PokeLove get a month to prepare and train a team and battle it out!
Getting Moon version here. The part that sucks is that I work second shift and 10 hour shifts lately, so I can't go to the midnight/11pm release for the game because the store will be closed an hour before I could get there. Ah well, guess I'll just have to get up extra early to pick it up the next morning. I am cautiously optimistic about the new games. My main worries are both about all the hand holding, and about the whole showing the type advantage thing in battles. I hope that the second at least has an option to be turned off, because part of the fun of new generations to me is not knowing what the new pokemon are strong or weak against until you've battled them quite a bit or catch them, so it does take out a decent bit of fun for me if you have no choice but to lose that mystery after the first battle. Still, I can't wait for the game, and I'm making it my primary goal to catch an ice vulpix.....
